Overpowered which means I can attempt another attack with the same dice pool. Per RAW I am out of maneuvers but I think the crit overwrites prerequisites such as maneuvers and strain?

Yes, the crit allows a second attack with everything you used for the first attack check (before resolving) without spending extra maneuvers and/ or DP ect.

Also: Nice comeback!

// Hey sorry to throw a hydrospanner in the works, shouldn't that second crit roll be 1d100+20? +10 for the already existing crit, +10 for the extra crit activation? So Grrwalryyhl should be Blinded.

Let me know if I'm missing something, but I think it's just a simple miscalculation. //

//Edit: Cheevil also has 2 ranks in Lethal Blows, so perhaps the roll should actually be 139; I realize that this is to my detriment pointing it out, but I want the match to be fair :)

Of course then the Overpowered crit would be something different as well :/ not sure how to handle all that.//

//idea: maybe treat Lethal Blows as optional, you can add all your ranks if you like after seeing the roll. Would make things clean.//

Hmm, I wouldn't, as it makes it more powerful, and the talent just says it adds +10 per rank of Lethal Blows, rather than may add. It also makes it more powerful, as it gives you a choice of criticals inflicted.

But it's ok as a house rule if you feel criticals are insufficiently effective.

Yeah...I'm just thinking specifically for this fight, since it would make for minimal headaches :)

I'm okay with whatever you guys think it's good @Nightone and @Darth Lectus. Just wanna make sure that I'm getting shafted properly by the super high dice rolls ;)

//Darn, I failed at math again. Apologies. Also completely forgot my lethal blows, which means the first roll would have resulted in Crippled, no 2nd attack. Do you want me to recompose my narration? I can do it after work tonight. //

The Wookiee roared in pain as the lightsaber sliced into his right arm. Pain was good...pain means there's still feeling. But something was damaged. He couldn't move it like normal, and his fingers felt numb.

Brawl check against Cheevil (shield gauntlet): 4eP+1eB+1eC+1eD+1eS 0 successes, 2 advantage, 1 Triumph
p-a.pngp-s.pngp--.pngp-tr.pngb-a-a.pngc-f.pngd-th.pngs-f.png

// I'll use the Triumph to disarm Cheevil once again, and with the Advantage I'll catch the lightsaber as a maneuver. My free maneuver will be used to take a guarded stance. //

Roaring a horrible war cry that momentarily startled the small Chadra-Fan, Grrwalryyhl used his left-handed energy shield in an indiscriminate upper-swipe that caught his opponent's lightsaber at an angle and sent it spinning straight up in the air. The blade deactivated as it left Cheevil's hand, and Grrwalryyhl—with his massive height advantage—caught the saber with his outstretched arm.

The world seemed to stand still a moment.

The Wookiee stared into the smaller one's eyes, breathing heavily, and readying himself. His martial training took the edge off of his inborn Wookiee rage as he prepared to defend his upper hand. What happened next could well spell disaster for either combatant.

Outch thats evil.

Since Cheevil doesn't have "Move + Disarm control" and no "Magnitic Tether" there is only the possibility to force the wookie to drop the weapon with 3 Advantages or a triumph on an check of your own.

But to be fair since you two never moved from the spot where Grrwalryyhl drop his first weapon, you could regain his with a maneuver.
-- Freaky Friday, weapon switch--

@awayputurwpn be aware that Cheevils Lightsaber is two handed so if you attack it the difficulty still increases.

// Grrawlryyhl is holding the lightsaber like he's not really sure what to do with it...but he just knows he has to keep it away from Cheevil! //

There could have been a reason that Grrwalryyhl left it there. Just saying.

// Going back to @Darth Lectus' question, an aimed/called-shot Brawl check could potentially do it, yes?

It's a bit tricky

Wouldn't work by RAW but I would allow it under these circumstances.

Called Shot Maneuver (add two setback) to a brawl attack, on success no damage would be done. , but the LS would be flinched out of the wookies hands an drop to ground.
for 2 advantages it can be fetched before hitting the ground.  The setback can be reduced by one by spending one more maneuver.

BUT the Wookie gets the changes to retaliate, by using three threads (or a despair) he may use "improved parry" this round (also parry needs to be activated by spending strain) and may hit for base damage with his fist.

This is just so we keep it fair (if one gets a change to go around the RAW the other one should also be able to do so)
