Not a direct parallel as Finn, Rey and Poe are all recurring characters in the new flagship trilogy rather than guys from a one off movie

Yeah...but Star Wars Rebellion is getting an expansion (its very first expansion), centered on characters and events portrayed in said "one off movie." I think Rogue One and its characters will be seeing merchandising for quite some time.

I love Rogue One. Yeah, it's an extension of the original trilogy, but that's part of what makes it so great! I'd love more pilots and alt paints from that movie!

A little more than a week to go before I fly out for GenCon. Hopefully FFG has a lot of new X-Wing stuff for me to spend my cash on!

Yeah my thoughts exactly.  I've said it elsewhere, but if Rogue One confirmed anything for me, it's how much I want to see more films set during the events of the original trilogy.  I enjoyed Rogue One much more than The Force Awakens, simply due to the direct links to A New Hope, Empire-era characters, locations and tech.

Bravo!! Bravo!! Exactly!! Rogue One gave us the things that made us like Star Wars in the first place!!! If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I started playing X-wing because of the X-WING!!! I hope it can be a big part of the game again! Other than Biggs......but I love Biggs!!

Apparently there is going to be some fall out from the leak. I'm not talking if it was true or not but well Newton's 3rd law is going into effect.

What kind of fallout? Isn't that an internal issue?

The Y, particularly, is curious to me.

I mean, this is one of THE most iconic Star Wars ships.  Nearly tied with the X-Wing and TIE Fighters - it was one of the only two Rebel fighters seen back when this all began in 1977, and has been in every single OT movie (although only passing in the background for ESB), and had major plot points in 'Rogue One' and the 'Rebels' TV series.

And yet the Rebels have only two named pilots for it.

That's...bizarre.

And Clone Wars, for that matter.

It's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to the Han Solo film, because I'm hoping that's going to be a lead-in to the underworld/western/"criminal's redemption" half of A New Hope, whilst Rogue One was the military/rebellion/desperate plans half.

So, I'm surprised no one has made mention of our new A-wing pilot from The Last Jedi - leaked recently, her name is Tallie, coming with a grey with blue stripes 3.75 action figure scale a-wing.   The packaging looks like the blaster cannons may swivel, a la the old droids cartoon a-wing.

Ya know, I really hated the T-70 X-Wing and TIE/fo for being such lazy-a$$ derivative designs, but...wow.

Compared to that 'Resistance A-Wing'...oh, geez, they were blasts of overwhelming ingenuity.  That thing is...why?!  What's the POINT in calling it something new?  Only the most hardcore bolt-counting super-nerd is ever going to even be ABLE to tell the A-Wing designs apart....

I love that the designs for those two are tweaks on earlier designs, rather than whole new ships like we normally get. It would be far more silly and unrealistic if there were only ever one version of X-Wing used in the battles against the Empire.

War advances weapon designs quickly, but it's far more common to build new designs upon the framework of models currently in production. Look at how many different version of Panzer were developed during WWII. Change the turret or just the main gun and give it a whole new designation. Heck, you can hardly tell a PZIII from a PZIV unless you count the wheels. The Sherman got a similar treatment, and it was further tweaked by the Lend-Lease countries as well.

if we never got another version of X-Wing or basic Tie, that would be dumb.

There is also the symbolic element to both the TIE and x-wing.   The x-wing was used to destroy TWO Deathstars, flown by the Hero of Yavin - the Last Jedi, as well as being considered a tough and adaptable workhorse.

The TIE/FO was a refinement in truest sense; any factories that mass produced TIEs could produce the newer model with minimal changes.   Also, the First Order is the empire reborn, with much that caused it to fail washed away, or so it believes.

For the viewers of the movies, they are instantly recognizable as x-wings and TIEs.   While some hardcore fans complain, there are those that are showing Star Wars to their children, who haven't read all the books, just seen the movies.   The new movies are not for the old generation die hard fans, that have already spent a lifetime of money, but the NEW generation of fans that are still kids.   The new toys - the standard line, not the black series, are meant to be played with.   Face it.. for the most part, Star Wars isn't for us anymore - that is not a bad thing.  I have fond memories of playing with star wars toys.   I'm making even fonder ones of watching my 4 year old son squee'ing in excitement for the new star wars movies and playing with the toys.

Yeah, Captain Obvious has a lot of great multi-porpoise gifs.

We're just three days out, people.  Git hyped.

And to those lucky, lucky people going to the North American Championship:

What does this mean for us?  It means we're all but guaranteed a Wave 12 announcement at GenCon, and it will probabably follow the established pattern of both Wave 8 in 2015 and Wave 10 last year, in that we'll have Rebel, Imperial and Scum ships announced first at GenCon, then ships from The Last Jedi announced and added on Force Friday II in September.

You have your schedule pilots.  Look lively.

Surprised that Wave XI came out before GenCon but that will be ok with Hired Guns.  Otherwise, this is the same discussion points I have been sharing.  I try to not have my skepticism seep in and talk about all the S&V ships that will come in Wave XII.

However, you did not address the missing SKUs SWX67 to 72, not that there is anything to say but pure speculation.  Wonder if we will get an announcement OR displays at GenCon.
