Its an initial thought.  Of course, it promotes a style of play that not everyone is comfortable with, so it'd need lots of testing and probably an application of some other "negative" for it.

Why not "Hold Here, we need only to keep them from escaping."  ?

Friendly ships can spend defense tokens while at Speed 0.

There is another Admiral that tells his ships to hold position though.

I keep thinking of that brave leader atop his mount, looking out over the grassy battlefield at the legion of droids marching menacing towards them. How he sat stoically, before speaking with his commanding voice... "steady, steady."

His ability should read "While a friendly ship is attacking a squadron, you may add 3 black dice to the attack pool. If the defender is not destroyed, the attacking ship is destroyed."

It's a double sided card, it starts with "Intensify forward firepower!" then flips to "TOO LATE!!!" under the right conditions...

"Intensify forward firepower!"

"While attacking a squadron, before you roll, you may add 3 black dice to the pool. If that attack fails to destroy the defender, before the attack ends, flip this card to the side "TOO LATE!!!"

"TOO LATE!!!"

"When this card is flipped to the side "TOO LATE" the owner of the defending squadron may choose to either force you to discard this card, or remove the defending squadron from play to inflict its starting hull value in face up damage cards. Once resolved flip this card to the side "Intensify forward firepower!"

Guys, I had a dream last night. In my dream, Wave 7 was a four-shipper: Dornean gunship as a Rebel combat flotilla, Carrack as an Imperial combat flotilla, MC75, and SWM20. I'll admit, dream-FFG undersized the SSD and validated everyone's complaints about it, but I think real-FFG will do a whole lot better.

Yeah, I might have designed a more cohesive wave if I was doing it awake, but 'tain't bad for an unconscious brain.

i mean, we have attack flotillas already.  You let me know when you see a Combat GR75 on the table.  And if you say "no, something like a flotilla but with guns on 3-4 sides or something and it could put out a good hurt but be relatively cheap and still command squadrons and stuff too" then i say "go play Leia with a hammerhead."  If you use her commands right, it IS an attack flotilla.  What else really is THERE for an attack flotilla to be that doesnt exist already?

at this point the less activation encouragement the better. I'd like to see lists drop with both an ISD and an interdictor that doesn't seem like it's going to have issues before it even hits the table.

The closest thing the game currently has to a dedicated attack flotilla that is not a non-flotilla ship is the Decimator.  Aside from that, the Hammerhead is apparently fulfilling that duty rather well.

I'd consider an attack flotilla something that comes with more than 1 dice a side, still is a flotilla (Garel's Honor is the absolute opposite of a flotilla) that I can put slicers and some boarding upgrades for a price that is not absurdly high
