The Spider 13 Posted July 27, 2017 Hello all. I have a question regarding the Neutral Event Card: Charge The text description says: "Action: Action, during a military conflict, choose a character in your provinces. Put it into play, into the conflict." When using this card, do you still have to pay the fate cost of that character card when it is moved from the province to the conflict? Yogo Gohei 622 Posted July 27, 2017 (edited) During the L5R live example game, where this card first appeared, the character's cost was not paid. See it here! Charge! is played by Dragon when there is exactly 13:43 left on the clock. Edited July 27, 2017 by Yogo Gohei 1 The Spider reacted to this
Gaffa 673 Posted July 27, 2017 LCG effects that put things into play ignore the regular costs of them; you only need to qualify for and pay the ability that puts something into play. However, in L5R, characters that are put into play cannot have more Fate invested in them through the normal means (card abilities that grant fate afterwards, or other ways like Matsu Beinoa, work fine). 1 The Spider reacted to this
The Spider 13 Posted July 27, 2017 Many thanks Yogo I had missed that card when watching the vid. I played this card during a test match on Table Top Simulator mod created by my friend Stan on steam workshop. As there was no text saying I had to pay, I did not, but we were not 100% if this was correct
