I must say that my real frustration is that there are no winners in this situation.

Roquax deserves to know his matchup.

You very much deserve a fair chance to beat JJ's very poor MoV.

JJ deserves a fair shot since he actually played through a very hard game with low chance of actually getting a high MoV.

The rest of the players deserve that things move forward.

The TO really, really didn't want a situation like. I did not anticipate it. And I was away for Nationals the entire weekend and had no time to monitor the progress properly.

So unhappiness all around.

So sorry for this whole fiasco. It completely is my fault, my schedule got out of hand. I feel like I stole an opportunity from @itzSteve so my apologies to him specifically.

The joys of having family come to town. :)

@Paindemic7708 vs Undeadguy tomorrow at 7PM EST.

Paindemic takes it over Undeadguy something to something. Undeadguy conceded after his Vic failed to get the damage needed to blow up Defiance... and Defiance almost certainly wasn't going to make the same mistake, especially with Jaina's Light to back it up. For what it's worth, Undeadguy got two A-wings and both of my transports, where I got Demo and Insidious. We were playing my VIP, which Defiance was going to get that turn. With the board position what it was, Undeadguy is willing to call it a tabling, if that matters.

It was a great game with a great opponent, as I got to be at the receiving end of some crazy Vic shenanigans for the first time... but the game had some very odd dice rolls. Demo OE'd into all blanks... and I Lando'd into more damage than I was trying to remove (I believe the only other two times Lando has gambled so badly is when he lost the Falcon to Han... and when he made a deal with Vader).

It was a good game. I don't think i could have done anything to change the out come though. Maybe swap Demo and Insidious at deployment, but it would have been the same situation. Even if I had gotten the double arc with the Vic and killed the MC80, I would have still lost since you could kill the Vic with both CR90s.

I could have ran away, but no one wants to play those games.

You've given me some things to think about. I'll certainly apply it to my Sato80 build, as well as trying to rebuild this fleet to counter Ackbar.

But those dice rolls were ridiculous. I cannot stress enough how swingy my dice were. Demo rolled 7 blanks over 2 rounds. 4 red blanks and 3 black blanks. And then Insidious rolled 2 hit/crits, a hit, and 2 crits, which Lando'd into 2 hit/crits, a crit, and a double + the hit not rerolled. And then my next attacked was a hefty 3 damage on 4 blacks with rerolls... Where as every Ackbar shot pulled at least 1 double hit or 1 Acc on top of the above average damage. And those CR90s hit like trucks. I tend to keep my cool when things don't go my way, but **** I was getting salty hahaha

Excellent win for Paindemic and finally breaking my win streak I've had over the past few months!

@Roquax won the match after i could concede at turn 4. I was not able to break his squadrons and Gallant Haven. So the ISD was in the middle in the end and would have died in the next turn.

I picked player 1. But with his 6 ships, Adar, Corran and Yavaris, he could take out my squadrons one by one. So i had to fly in. But i messed up the movement in turn 2 (rammed my own Flotilla) and so i was to far away. The only chance was to take out the Mark II fast, but the fighter screen was just to good. There was no way to get through.

It was a tough match for @Tokra.  Having squadrons hiding in the station means that they are obstructed and couple that with Gallant Haven, that's a lot of damage mitigation.

Regardless, it was a very cerebral match.  There was a lot of maneuvering and game-theory, an excellent example of how Armada should be played at a high level.  Kudos to @Tokra for a great game.

Come one, come all. Come see the battle of Sloane and Ackbar, as they duel for the honor of second in the Vassal Autumn Tournament.

And it is over... for me, at least. GP gets to go to the finals with a 345-263 win over yours truly. Both admirals were lost, but GP's mastery of his evil Imperial bombers sealed the day for him. We played my VIP, who sailed off in my lone surviving transport, Bright Hope, wondering if this was indeed the end of the Rebellion...

It was an absolutely brutal match, with both fleets wailing away at each other to devastating effect. There was none of the "elim match hide and seek" so often reviled, but a straight up slugging match that Samothrace (Relentless) lost, but that the Empire won. And for that, the ghost of Admiral Sloane salutes Admiral Ackbar as a worthy opponent, even as her TIE Defenders swarmed after Bright Hope as it shot for hyperspace.

Logfile here.

In other news, I look forward to one more match against @Roquax, mostly to watch the artistry of the RCAF as it tears me to shreds, again.

Come one, come all, as GP's Sloane Defenders try to avenge their previous defeat at the hands of the RCAF led by @Roquax

And I conceded defeat on Turn 2 to our champion, @Roquax. The Star Destroyer had one hull, facing a double arc from GH, and most of my squads were already dead. All I could accomplish was maybe another CO token, before the Quasar and Gozanti succumbed to the same fate.
