Most Fun Lists

I'm getting burnt out really from being competitive. I was a pretty good Palp Aces player, Palp got nerfed and was excited to try new things! Store Champ season gave me an opportunity to run a million different things. I made Top Cuts with Scum and Imperial, made Top 8 with Rebels. However, even though I'm changing lists and winning enough I'm still getting that competitive fatigue. No game is exciting me anymore. I either get wiped out, or they get wiped out, or it's a long out game with super Biggs. Our meta is filled with Mindlink which I can't stand. 

I've been trying to ease out of trying to be competitive too since I'll be moving out with my gf soon and gonna have to stop spending so much money on this game. 

 

Long story short, I'm asking you guys what are your most fun lists? They don't gotta be competitive, as long as they are fun to play even when losing. I'm still going to go to tournaments because the community is great.

 I want to do more Epic, but sadly the player that is usually up for Epic in our area just got a newborn, so he doesn't have much time to play :/ 

 

Gonna tag the experts of casual with a side question of: what's your favorite FFG mission? :)

I love this build, people don't see the imperial Firespray ever so they play against it a bit oddly, all the Ions gives you options to deal with ships. The Strikers a fully customizable to fit your taste as play style and their maneuvering abilities paired with the big aggressive Firespray actually rocks well.

I love the firespray build! My go to is usually Stress Kath when I get a chance to run it, but an Ion themed one sounds fun!

 

For the Punisher I'm thinking about running a named one lik Deathrain. Maybe throw Deathfire in too to carry the bomb theme since I've never ran him either. Think this is a good set up?

The list itself is fine, you may find you want the Connor nets on Deathfire and give Clusters to deathrain, more of a personal choice there though.

Oh and that Ion Firespray build, wrecked a Dash/Nora build. IPM'd Dash, the Strikers cleaned him out. Then Walked Nora off the board. Also took down a Decimator by Ion onto a Rock then Blocked it (another Ion for his troubles) held it there then K turned and ioned him again....the looks were worth it. Right now the list is 4-1

Kavil w/ VI, Bomb Loadout, Extra Munitions, TLT, Proton Bombs, Genius, Engine Upgrade
Zuvio w/ VI, Bombardier, Proton Bomb, Scavenger Crane, Space-Tug, Pattern Analyzer

I did it quick, but my idea behind have Connor Nets on Rain was so if I drop it in front with Adv Sensors, my barrel roll will give me enough room to maneuver. 

 

Was just a quick quick thought though. Why would you prefer the other way?

I love it! It's so different! I need to try the other Syck Pilots too, so Jast interests me.

We're having a fun lists night tonight with awards for thematic squadrons, I'm using....

Phantom Squadron:

Wedge - Expertise, R2D2, Integrated Astro

Snap - Intensity, BB8, Primed Thrusters, Plasma Torp, Integrated Astro

Gold Squadron - Ion turret, ion bomb, bomb load out, R3A2, BTL-A4,

In the book Snap is in a T-65 not a T-70 but that can't be helped.

I'm in love with Strikers. I really like this super-light Duchess build of just title and VI. It flies tighter than an interceptor at ps10 for 24 pts. I left off lightweight frame because pwts eat it alive even with the extra green, but against every other ship it's ideal for getting behind and out of arc. Even TLT lists have trouble keeping it out of that range 1 donut hole. 

I'm also having a surprising amount of fun with Snap Tact Rhymer. Apart from being a consistent vehicle for double stress, it changes your opponent's flight pattern, which can be disruptive enough as it is. He hurts expertise, mindlink, slam-bombs, aces, and can even pop a stress on Lowhrick with snap to prevent him from passing a reinforce evade to Biggs. It's a lot of points at 30-35, but I've found him to be unexpectedly effective.

5 Scarif Defenders, ailerons, lightweight frame.

It may not win (although it has; came 2nd at the last event I took it to) but at least once in any game you'll have your opponent going "how the bloody hell did he get there?!?" which is very satisfying.

My favourite mission is probably F3 (Rescue) - the Force Awakens version of the much-trumpeted Political Escort.

Well this is pretty fun but also a right pain if you try to get too clever with it:

PS9 Poe

PTL, BB-8, Pattern Analyser, Black One, AT's

Jake

PTL, VI, Title, Prockets (or Cruise Missiles), AT's

Ahsoka

VI, Capured TIE and up to 5 points of extras (Rey, BMST, EMP Device)

 

All PS9 and slippery as heck. Poe revealing a green, BR with BB8 strip a target lock and then can PTL to adjust line with a boost and drop another lock and can then focus. However, I have tried to get too clever with this in the past and parked him right infront of an Inquisitor with Prockets and also flown him off the board.

 

However, Poe really hates TLTs

Because of the Advanced Sensors: makes it a bit less likely I'm going to create a log jam for the rest of my ships since DR moves first.

Will try that mission! 5 Of those things seem like fun! I gotta try it on TTS sometime!

I flew pretty much the same list but had Intensity/R2-D2 Poe. BB-8 is so much more fun, will definitely run this version!

i really like the idea of Bomblet Generator on him. One of my buddies mentioned it too, i think it makes Deathrain's points more valuable.

 

What does everyone think of this alteration of the list I proposed earlier?

Again looks pretty solid. Still trying to figure out Squad Leader on QD, you'd be better served with predator or even VI vs the 1 pt bid.

Purpose was to give Deathfire a BR/Bomb at PS9 if he needed or a TL for his Ion Pulse Missiles. However, I think it doesn't help me too much and I've tried to be too cute with it in the last couple practice games. Think I'll just do VI on him.

 

Also, I don't need Adv Sensors on Deathrain it seems like with Bomblet Generator. BG essentially gives me an Adv Sensor BR every single turn. It has actually surprised me how effective it is.

If you have the ships, and you enjoy being silly, try the following list.

It's great because, you can just run up into someone's face and block all their moves, plus stress them, plus tractor beams.  It's just dumb.
