How do we feel about the dynamic duo in the current meta?

 

Still the old standard of FCS, Glitter, Crack or maybe something new?

I flew against a pretty tough pair on Saturday. It was advanced sensors, PTL brobots with Ion cannons. (B and C).

Not really convinced any of the new stuff gives them any more room to shine than the old stuff did, though their IG88B HLCs does give them a pretty solid base of firepower. But there's still really too much out there that can obliterate them, and at the moment there's a preponderance of stuff that can outfly them to boot - and 16 HP isn't all that many to withstand bombs, even if it gives them better odds.

I remain hopeful that there'll be something out there, though.

At least one Ion Cannon sounds pretty cool versus Nym lists.

Someone just won a store championship with them he ran:

Basically super control IGs and out manuevered them while still getting actions with the Segnor's loops.

I was recently wondering if Arc Caster brobots could be a good counter to the new immortal Biggs lists floating around. You could use the control version and drop the cargo chutes for the arcs. The problem is it would probably lose to most other lists.

Splash Damage is okay, but the Arc Caster is very short range, and doesn't actually produce any more firepower than a normal primary shot would (on its main target, anyway).

More importantly, since it flips, you can't double-tap with it, messing with IG-88B's (awesome) ability.

If I was going to try and mess with a Lowhhrick/Biggs squad, then I might suggest a tractor beam; a double-tapped tractor beam is hard to dodge, and pulling the squad formation apart disrupts it very effectively; Selflessness, Draw Their Fire, and Lowhhrick, Biggs Darklighter and Jess Pava's pilot abilities are all range 1.
