Weve outgrown our ship

Recommended Posts

Thanks. They went with the Consular.  Funny story.  We were in the middle of the story today when they realized the needed something better.  So the Noble of the groupis making connections with her Family heritage and was able to get the ship from the Royal hangar.   As they were leaving the obligatory fight broke out, so everyone scrambled for positions.  Now the Consular ship in the AoR CRB has weapons, FnD Disciples of Harmony does not.  Guess which one (GM Destiny flip) they got?:D

Hah, good stuff.

If I'm remembering it correctly, the one with weapons is the Rebellion's paramilitary conversion, while the unarmed one is a normal Consular.

Personally I'd have gone with the C-roc, but that's just me and my love of a general purpose ship with decent all around stats.

The C-ROC isn't "decent" it's actually rather "indecent" in how much it exceeds all other ships of its class while still costing relatively little to purchase. The people that brought it to us really did a poor job with game balance on the C-ROC.

That makes sense. Yeah the pilot was all like "Nnnoooo! I definitely  wouldhave  chosen  the  one with guns!" My reasoning was A: its from a royal house and the other was waaay too armed, and B: this way makes for a better story. Escape ended up being  very Empire  Strikes Back like, even had an engine blow on a Despair during Evasive Maneuvers. Me:" This ship just isn't designed  to  pull off the thingss you're  trying." Pilot: "See? This is why we can't  have  nice things!" So, next stop Nar Shadda for some much needed modding.

Why do you think that?

Fixed.

There was a whole thread about it.

It is by far the most OP sil5 in the game. And arguably* the most OP ship in the game.

*There are a few sil3 ships that rival sil4 ships and could be argued to by top OP ships.

Another option is to not ditch the old ship and get a new one, but to get an additional ship. With that many people in the group (even if some are NPCs) a second ship would mean more people getting to act in space encounters.

Multiple ships opens a lot of additional story options. It also comes with the possibility of added complications, especially if the PCs tend to split up a lot. Be cautious if you go this route as it can backfire easily.

So on the NPC ship ended up being 2 droids, tbe PC  faceman and doctor who were absent this week, his nurse (who ends up being Chewies doctor in TFA), and the 6 rescued rebel cell members, and tbe nobles nanny from when she was little. Also a pet Kowakian Momkey Lizard who hasnt been crate trained yet...

If that was the rebels paramilitary conversion, I'm wondering what the official C70 charger refit of the consular would look like?

Yeah the CROC is a total beast thanks to the 6 unspent hard points, only things wrong with it are the "low" speed (I don't like to touch anything with less than speed 4 because I want to use the high output ion turbine upgrade to get it to speed 5) and lousy hyper drive (but that's fixable), and i'd rather have 6 months of consumables.

Of the top of my head there's a pretty bad@ss silhouette minstrel class yacht (6 armor) in lords of nal hutta that the Hutts use as warships, it carries 6 star fighters and 2 shuttlesi, comes with a bunch of light turbo lasers and ion cannons

So now I need to figure how long it takes to install the weapons on Nar Shadda. Bare minimum, assuming  no problems  with  the  locals  and  everything  goes  smoothly (it won't  go smoothly). Does it say anywhere how long it takes to install weapons on a ship that has none?

The ship attachments says that they cost 10x as much as weapons/armor attachments, but otherwise function the same.

Weapon/armor attachments takes a couple of hours.

That's the RAW on it, but if you want to do it differently, that's up to you.

So I think I just inadvertently  created my next one shot for a con game.

While having dinner after wraping up arming the ship, a Twilek child came running in and hid under their booth. Then, the slavers came in to reclaim her. Start cantina brawl. She escacped from a Hutt who was meeting up with another to sell a large group of slaves, her parents included. Off to the rescue! They tracked the deal to a sail barge winding through the city. Took out the skiff escorts, boarded the barge and took out the deck guards, then went below to disrupt the deal. 4 pcs vs. 4 Ganks, a dozen Klatoonians, a Weequay with 2 dark wolves (LoNH), and 2 Hutts with their majordomos.

The hutts were so impressed by the carnage that they offered them jobs, which they turned down in "aggressive negotiations".

So now they need to get offworld before the Desijilic and Anjilac clans can respond...
