How do you feel about Rune Golems?

Got my rune golem box so now i own 4 of them YAY

Gotta say, the new sculpt is even more badass than the original.

Also...did anyone else get 2 wind runes? for some reason that strikes me as odd to give me 2 wind runes in that box (especially since they cant even equip it without being in a 2x1)

Use em on Cav or spearmen for shenanigans. Lancers got 2 moment of inspiration. They are really pushing Wind Rune. I think on dev REALLY has a hard on for Wind Rune.

I'm going to run mine individually because they are a lot of damage for only one tray of space. Hitting a larger unit with three separate Rune Golems seems awesome to me. Even if one is killed off you still have one to attack with and one to stun. I feel like they'd also shine as Crossbow escorts. The crossbows can fire around the golem and anything that gets hung up on the golem will be at the perfect mortal strike range.

Although I'd love to see the Rune Golem be super unpopular so I could get a bunch on Ebay for cheap!

Oh yeah, i never really bothered on spearmen but ive wanted it on cavalry simply because its really easy for them to get stuck in a bind due to lack of a shift and reform being insanely slow initiative. Especially with a 4wide tray via hawthorn lol.

But the golems practically didnt do anything w/o wind runes imo. Wind runes let them literally shift around everything and pop up from odd angles for a quick charge next turn. That takes like 3 turns to do w/o wind runes.

Bear in mind that the Golems come natively with the ability to shift one and reform, which is as good as a wind rune half the time (aside from the very relevant facts that it comes much later in the turn and prevents you from also rallying).

Yes, but its only a Shift1 and stacking the Rallys is pretty important.
Shift1 doesnt really get you anywhere other than away from a rock so you can charge w/o risk of tagging the rock.
Other importance is if you are in fear of archers or countercharge, golem action is red and so +1-2 armor after you "move"
