Decent Swarm List?

Recommended Posts

I'm working on a counter to large-based and low-agility ships. Does this work?

 (100)

"Omega Leader" (29) - TIE/FO Fighter
Juke (2), Comm Relay (3), Stealth Device (3)

Omega Squadron Pilot (19) - TIE/FO Fighter
Snap Shot (2)

Omega Squadron Pilot (19) - TIE/FO Fighter
Snap Shot (2)

"Howlrunner" (21) - TIE Fighter
Swarm Leader (3)

Academy Pilot (12) - TIE Fighter

Any and all swarms are the bane of low-agility ships. If that's the only kind of matchup you're anticipating, then the exact composition of your swarm is just a point of preference.

Thanks. I'm prepping for a tournament with my low-agility ships, so I'm throwing this list together for a friend helping me practice.

I was mainly curious about Swarm Leader on Howlrunner. Throwing 4-5 dice should be pretty strong, but I didn't know if it was worth leaving the F/O's without evades.

Swarm Leader is best in a list with ships that get free evades (like x7 and TAP) or that store evades (comm relay).

Even 4-5 dice isn't very strong on a ship than can't fully modify those dice. Howlrunner is also an easy first target. Omega Leader helps draw some attention off Howlrunner, but a lot of people will kill her first because it does more to shut down your whole list.

IMO Comm Relay is too expensive for evade providers because Swarm Leader removes the tokens. Juke and UniPS with the Swarm Leader works quite well.

Made this list the other day but havent tested yet because I only have one TAP:

Black Barons

TIE Striker: Black Squadron Scout (20)
     · Swarm Leader (3)
     Lightweight Frame (2)
     Adaptive ailerons (0)
TIE Advanced Prototype: Baron of the Empire (19)
     Juke (2)
     XX-23 S-Thread Tracers (1)
     Autothrusters (2)
     TIE/v1 (1)
TIE Advanced Prototype: Baron of the Empire (19)
     Juke (2)
     XX-23 S-Thread Tracers (1)
     Autothrusters (2)
     TIE/v1 (1)
TIE Advanced Prototype: Baron of the Empire (19)
     Juke (2)
     XX-23 S-Thread Tracers (1)
     Autothrusters (2)
     TIE/v1 (1)
-- TOTAL ------- 100p. --

Might have to ditch Tracers for iniative bid.

EDIT: And Striker needs a Targeting Computer...

@Arthur_McGuire Comm Relay is expensive, but the action efficiency makes the ship more of an individual threat.

Duly noted. Still IMO Comm Relay is good for keeping evade token (for Juke or as an additional shield) but if Swarm Leader eats the token most every turn it's just dead weight because you'll need to replenish the token all the time anyways.

When using FO ships as Swarm feeders I prefer Pattern Analyzer so I can get that precious evade on back to back turns through S-loops.
