Darth-Meepy 5 Posted June 14, 2017 Hi, I've got a game lined up against a player who largely has older ships and isn't too competitive. He typically turns up with the old Falcon, A-wings, B-wings, X-Wings, Y-Wings and Z95s. I want to try something I don't normally fly, that will be fun, won't be a walkover, but won't be too competitive. I was thinking; Carnor Jax, PTL 29 Turr Phenir, VI 26 Deathfire, Concussion missiles, extra mun, long range scanners 23 Scimitar Sqd Pilot, Concussion missiles, extra mun, long range scanners 22 I know that Deathfire's ability is wasted, but I only have one Scimitar card, and he's the next cheapest option! The basic idea is that the bombers keep their distance and get their ordnance off while the interceptors flank together. If he goes for my bombers, he's going to have 2 interceptors behind him, if he goes for the interceptors, then I'm going to get 4 lots of missiles off at him. Does that sound reasonably middle-of-the road in terms of competitiveness against the old wave 1-3 ships? Does anything seem either too nasty or too wussy? thebrettski 316 Posted June 15, 2017 You may as well drop the missile and add a bomb on deathfire. At the worst, it will give you a ship to fly differently than the other bomber, and just adds another wrinkle to the list to make it interesting for you and your opponent. Thanks - yes, that makes sense I guess - the reason I didn't do that originally is because then I'd expect him to hit the single missile bomber first and take it out before it could get (m)any shots off, and still have time to deal with the bombs bomber before they came into play. I figured 2 of the missile loads would mean I was almost guaranteed to get a couple of missiles off before they both die! Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

You don't spend your lock to make an attack. You may roll well enough with a focus that you can keep your lock and overcomes the disadvantage of LRS. Yeah, I like homing missiles, and as you say, they're a better fit with the LRS as you don't spend the TL... The reason I went with conc instead is because given my opponents range of available ships, hardly any of them can evade, so ignoring evade tokens becomes useless - you're probably right that keeping the TL is more important though 1 Sasajak reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
