I would assume there are new flares, but now that it's out, ARE there new flares in the expansion

Yep. They're in there for all 20 new powers. It looks like a great expansion.

Even if I'm no pro and never tried previous editions, would I be wrong to assume that NEW ALIENS mean NEW FLARES, like, "automatically" ?

With the Eon edition, expansions 6 and 7 contained new powers but then players had to wait until expansion 8 for flares for the powers in expansion 6 and 7.

So no its not necessarily automatic.

Well, with this edition, you're supposed to choose powers by dealing two flares to each person and then choose one.  If they didn't include the flares for the new aliens it would be a bit difficult to actually choose one of the new aliens...
