Been planning to do this myself, looks good!

As I have 2 core sets and hence 2 copies of the Terrain I decided to use Ardus' base and one of the Rocky outcrops to make my first piece of 3D terrain.

A little work with a craft knife to trim a couple of bits on the base that slightly protruded from the terrain template and then some milliput gives:

Hmm.... it's a nice start. I suggest using PVA to get some sand on there, and then I'd prime it black and go from there.

I love it.

I have decided to make one be a model permanent on the small hill, and one be a model for adding to infantry.  At least that way I think I've done something with them.
