Altahara 327 Posted May 21, 2017 Played against 3 of these at a store champs today. Barely beat one. Didn't have a y dice control. My fault. But even with it. The dice were being resolved before I could do anything.

Any other deck that relies on upgrades on his charaters will see its damage outpust constantly growing (and reaching its top on the 3rd round usually) You need to reach the 3rd round with both characters alive (but NOT with the same amount of remaining life points) OR with your only character facing his only character (Hopefully Maz e without any vehicle into play). Poe/Maz is quite strong BUT is a deck that has actually 12 life points. Target Maz on the first round ONLY if you can kill her on the very same turn (it is not that difficult for some deck with only 8 lp) I prefer to just kill Poe in turn one or first thing in turn 2 if I'm rolling poorly. Having two Falcons, and two U-Wings are just wasted space to Mas without Poe.

Maybe plays a little slower sure, but seems like it could outlast Poe while ramping and ignore some of Poe's defenses as well. Honestly though it really is a problem that basically every "competitive" deck needs legendaries these days, or that's what it seems like. In Awakenings I ran a Budget Luke Deck (yes that is a legendary) with Luke being the only legendary in the deck and I did just fine, hell most of the upgrades were starter set rares and a lot of commons because i didnt have a lot of uncommons either because I just didnt get a lot of packs and had to trade hard core and get super lucky to get the Luke's. Now it feels like every deck wants to run at least 3 or 4 legendaries in addition to their characters.... No but seriously really struggling with a Luke Deck right now just not sure what to put in and cut and I just dont know if any of it will be enough, built in weakness to Mill doesnt help either.... ozmodon 535 Posted May 21, 2017 (edited) Shields are to slow. Poe drops a thermal detonator then a Falcon on you . 3 dmg for the first and 4 dmg for the second. Shield generation can't compete with that. You have to hit Poe and take him out asap. I'll keep playing against this deck but so far all I'm seeing is that it has the potential of being the most expensive deck ever to build. It has the easy of play aspect, so a lot of people will be drawn to it. I'm wanting to be able to play against it, we are attempting to maxamize it's effectiveness. To see if it will beat me with any kind of consistency. I'm not bragging, and yes it will win quite a bit of games, just not the top 2 or 3% that will win worlds Edited May 21, 2017 by ozmodon
