Polda 4,281 Posted May 3, 2017 Here's the progress of building a small hill with a ruin from layering foam tiles to applying flock and bushes. Could not get proper EVA foam tiles. so I had to go with the toy ones. Foam glued onto a cork base (I wanted these to be light). After cutting of the excess foam I put on some air drying clay to smooth out the hill. Cork was used for small bricks and stairs. Afterwards I added some decoupage stone texture paste to texture the entire surface with. I added some broken walls and primed the thing black. Sprayed some gray and brown on to save me time painting the bits by hand. Drybrushed on dark brown, then Sand Brown onto the dirt. Grays and browns onto the stones. Afterwards I glued on static grass with PVA glue, some flowers, bushes, moss.... Now for the big reveal. Drumroll . . . . . . . . . . . And under dim light: 15 Warpedstorm, maxam, Ranger421 and 12 others reacted to this
Tvayumat 3,637 Posted May 3, 2017 Love it! I love that people are making custom terrain for this game. The terrain tokens definitely have their place in competitive play, but custom terrain for narrative/lore/home games is going to extend the longevity of the game significantly. 2 Melanchthon and maxam reacted to this

Xargonaut 165 Posted May 3, 2017 Very nice. Are the larger bricks also made from cork, or from the foam material? They seem to have a smoother surface than the fire pit ones.

The wall pieces I did in long clean cuts with a hobby knife. 2 Xargonaut and Melanchthon reacted to this
Polda 4,281 Posted May 4, 2017 (edited) BTW the flame is a 2€ LED tealight. I have another one that's way more powerful but still requires some work to be finished. Edit: test run of the more powerful light Edited May 4, 2017 by Polda 2 cyberkeith and Melanchthon reacted to this
eilif 135 Posted May 6, 2017 Really cool stuff. I've not seen many folks making hills with EVA. It's softer, but also much less prone to chipping than the usual pink or blue insulation foam.

And spraycan primers don't melt it.
