Stompburger 684 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) I posted a hero I'm designing in the Homebrew Characters thread, but I was hoping to get some balance input from people who play a lot of campaign - it's mostly skirmish stuff in the homebrew thread. So please, tell me how OP/useless this hero would be! Quote My inspiration for this was thinking about the normal credit distribution in a campaign, and how you normally need to let one or two heroes live with sub-optimal equipment. The types of heroes who normally do well on few credits are support heroes, who either boost the strength of their allies or use the strength of their enemies against them. I wanted to try to design a hero who was meant to have low credit investment, but instead of having powerful support abilities, they were able to boost their own combat power until it could compete (somewhat) with item purchases. So, I designed a Martial Artist - he isn't allowed to use weapons, so you can't buy him any! This is still an early pass at abilities, so let me know what you think of how things are balanced/costed/worded. And if you want the template cards I used (usable outside of photoshop) let me know! Art is not mine btw, I stole it from various places. Edited May 2, 2017 by Stompburger
a1bert 4,027 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) Flow of Battle: Limit once per figure per mission? Limit once per figure per round? The wording is also a little off if it is intended to choose more than 1 figure (i.e. choose a figure separately for each success). We have a similar wording for Onar, and I think there is only one push (of however many number of successes) instead of separate pushes. So, make it clearer. That's a good point - I intend it to be that you can only push a figure once per use of the ability (so you could push up to 3 different figures once space each, but you couldn't push 1 figure 3 spaces). What should the wording be in that case?
a1bert 4,027 Posted May 2, 2017 Maybe ... first draft: "... For each success, to a maximum of 3, you may choose another small figure within 3 spaces. Push each chosen figure 1 space, limit once per figure." looks too long...
