SpaceTug Tractor Array: The Rugby Toss

Theoretically, could you line up 5 Jakku gunner runners horizontally on the leftish side of the map, catch an opopnent in range 1 in the middle of the map and then continually throw that ship down the line like a rugby toss right off the map? I'm suprised this isn't one of the mynock bounties yet.

Nearly as fun is the Fastball Special. Named from the X-men comic where Colossus throws Wolverine at the bad guy, it only requires two Quads with the tractor Array. If one tractors the other straight forward, which goes 3 straight, that second Quad can tractor someone that is 8.5 base lengths ahead of its starting position, or just under a big base past range three. 

You will probably lose that reduced agility Quadjumper, but no one sees it coming!

Make the boosted Quad Sarco Plank and the tractor beam doesn't affect him, and/or if you want more distance add a cloaking device to it :)

Is there anywhere that clearly states this? I'm trying to convince a friend that you can't do this.

p21 of the FAQ:

Q: Can a ship decloak or perform a boost or barrel roll that

would cause it to go outside the play area (and thus flee

the battlefield)?

 

A: No. A ship cannot decloak or perform a boost or barrel roll if this would

cause its base to go outside the play area. This includes a boost or barrel

roll caused from receiving a tractor beam token.

No. But it is possible to use a combination of ion bombs and tractor beam tosses to achieve this over a few game turns. Then it should be at the edge of the board and doomed to fly off in the next turn.

It makes me think of a rather bizarre form of Life (the game).

Although boost, barrel roll are protected from edge of board, this does not apply to Daredevil and Adaptive Ailerons because those are manoeuvres.

How about this:

97 Points:

x2 Syndicate Thug + Ion Cannon Turret 

x3 Jakku Gunrunner + Spacetug Tractor Array

There is a few points left over you could give an ion bomb to one of them or upgrade a Gunrunner to Unkar Plutt.

This would be a pretty fun list so long as you dont run up against an all large base opponent. I still can't seem to get over the fact that tractor beams are useless against most large base ships (especially the VCX and Decimator).
