tkundnobody 66 Posted April 25, 2017 Hi, I'd like to give my Archers bowstrings. I found some tutorials (this for example: http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.de/2014/03/tutorial-how-to-create-bowstrings.html). My Question is which nylon threads do I need for this? Which diameter (0,7mm, 0,25mm thinner? thicker?) and which resistance should it have (20kg seems quite a lot, 2,7kg is much lesser and should work)? I fear to get it ripped while play due to I don't want to be too careful with my minis, because i wanna play with them and not just watch? Any experience? CMtheGM 15 Posted April 25, 2017 I've done this in the past. Don't overthink it too much. Either sewing thread or thin copper wire work very well. Easier to paint wire though...
Joker2007 57 Posted April 25, 2017 If you have any old plastic sprue laying around, heat it up and stretch it...give you a long piece that's a bit thicker towards the ends, and since it is plastic, it glues easy and takes paint. I've done it many times, works like a charm
Jukey 1,257 Posted April 26, 2017 I plan to do this, but figure I'll just glue some thread to the bows

A thin beige thread should work well. 1 Jukey reacted to this
