CMtheGM 15 Posted April 24, 2017 Way more than I had anticipated. Still like the sculpts, but yeesh..... 2 banjobenito and sev968 reacted to this
Joker2007 57 Posted April 24, 2017 Yeah, they suck. But it's worth it because, like you said, the sculpts are good. Doesn't help that I'm totally anal about removing every last mold line...
Tvayumat 3,637 Posted April 24, 2017 Honestly, guys, don't worry about it. Prime the figure, find the most egregious examples on the head and shoulders, trim anything that stands out, move on. If I've learned anything from working with figures for over a decade, it's that nobody notices the vast majority of mold lines. Take a look at my painting thread. I barely touched any moldlines that weren't on top of a skull or shoulder pad. 3 Doodlebug, marinegrunt01 and maxam reacted to this
Joker2007 57 Posted April 24, 2017 I hear what you're saying...but I'm a model builder at heart and I gotta get rid of them all...for me, the mini isn't done unless I've done everything...that's my thing, and I absolutely respect and understand your take on it. Your minis look great, btw.

CMtheGM 15 Posted April 24, 2017 Yeah I've noticed I missed a few after priming or painting and I'm just letting it go. But I'm a slow painter so I notice it for awhile.... 1 maxam reacted to this
Blaied 31 Posted April 24, 2017 I 100% agree that it's unnecessary to remove 75% of them. I used to be super upright about it, but honestly I only do the top ones now. Head, shoulders, arms, weapons. I don't do anything underneath. arms, legs, capes, anything that's not visibal from front top I don't touch. It's jut not worth it Imo. It used to kill my momentum and drive to build/paint. I find myself enjoying it a lot more now that I stopped worrying about it as much and I've been doing minis for 10+ years 1 Tvayumat reacted to this
Polda 4,281 Posted April 25, 2017 I scraped the pauldrons, heads and helmets (maybe two axes) and stopped there. With so many units you won't notice.
sev968 8 Posted April 25, 2017 Still far less than many other companies, I recommend the back of a hobby knife and some green stuff and they'll come out great! 1 Tvayumat reacted to this
