Sourcing weapons for conversions

Recommended Posts

Hello Runies,

I'm looking for a source of pennants, lances and such to do some conversions for my armies. Just a few things to break the uniformity of the sculpts really. Can anyone recommend a good place for these, or is it just a matter of buying some Sigmar stuff and chucking most of it away? Ta in advance.

I don't have a name or link but att my local hobby shop there are some kits that are for converting. Kits with just swords or heads etc

Thirds party made to scale with 40k and fantasy. Google might turn something up.

Second tips is to check facebook groups. There usually exist some local groups that buy/sell/trade minus and bits. From experience you will have a bunch of unused bits you don't use. So ask around

The major thing with crossing AoS stuff over is going to be a slight difference in scale, and a difference in the materials. There are stores out there that do nothing but sell bits (mostly from older model sets they bought on discount and cut up for the parts like this one http://www.bitzstore.com/en/. I would argue that you can usually get a better deal for these by buying a bulk package or an older badly-painted army on ebay, stripping the paint, and chopping them up for the parts.

Ask around at your FLGS.   Shouldn't take long to find GW players with loads of bits.  Might even get some freebies.

Alternatively, post over at Bartertown with what you're looking for.  I'm sure some folks will come forward especially if you're looking for common bits.

Found a 'bitz' dealer and got hold of a nice variety of round undead shields, pennants, pikes, banners and blades to sort my skellies out. Thanks for all the advice guys, really appreciated.

Very cool.

Looking forward to seeing how these turn out.
