N-1 Naboo Starfighter for X-Wing

And yet the game didn't implode when the ARC came out. The N-1 would also have something I think people really want: pilot Leia. Otherwise, she just has a crew card I have never seen played.

Also, there are a couple of people on here who have said that while they don't like the prequels, they are okay with a few ships from that era coming in for good reasons. Leia is a good reason.

I think one can dislike the prequels, but still like elements in it. I actually quite like the N-1, because my father got me a model of it that we built together when I was a child, and because I knew the cheat code to get it in Rogue Squadron for the N64. I have more than just the movie to tie me to that vessel.

And finally, if you think nobody hates Rebels, you need to get out more. I personally quite like it, but I've seen plenty of negative sentiment towards the "cartoon ships" around this forum.

And imagine how much more negative the sentiment would be towards Anakin's yellow spinmobile.

No, you missed the point. The Rebels ships (and the game itself) survived the negative sentiment. So can the N-1. Especially if it brings Leia along.

I'm sure you can do better... :/

Yea I can.

The only thing the creator has to do is shift the layer with the Gunboat and the "in-box-lighting-effect" a set amount of pixels to the left so that the left wingtip is a bit away from the border of the case. Done.

Then it looks like it is actually inside the case and not already flying outside of the case towards us.

Also, despite your claims it will destroy the game, I see more people for its inclusion on this thread than against. Admittedly, this is a small sample size, but it does suggest that the X-Wing community isn't as anti anything prequel related than you seem to believe.

So what you are saying is that Imperial ships that don't follow what you (wrongly) think are the clearly defined Star Wars aesthetics are okay because they have a reason not to be used and look miserable?

Huh, it's almost like it applies equally to the prequels!

Real aircraft of democratic republics don't look like they are about to fall apart.

Also, for extra laughts at your ignorance:

Full size props for actors to sit in are different than cgi flips and spins where the pilots can't be seen.  Although I didn't mind it that much, cgi space ships are better than cgi robots fighting cgi aliens or clones

It's not small sample size. It's no surprise that atheists are a minority in church choirs. If you create a thread about a topic, only people interested in it will join in.

Do we need a Leia pilot, yes. Do we need her in a N-1, hell no. Stick her in the resistance transporter and let her fly around boosting ships like a leader, instead of a fighter pilot.

Nubian and N-1 nad miniatures that wers used during filming.

I posted full scale models because the argument was that the the ships were only made in CGI and that's why they don't look worn, ie how every SW ship should look like according to people who have never seen Star Wars.

Full scale props not looking like they are about to fall apart prove that the look of Naboo ships is not a result of some supposed CGI limitation but a design choice.

Brand new off the assembly line starships would be 'used'. Also some super rich dood would not run around in a piece of junk frieghter, he would have a shiney looking, super slick ship.  The 'lived in' look of SW is due to the ships and vehicles we do see are examples of heavily used or modified tech AND to contrast with the stark and sterile futures of 2001 and Star Trek.

1x used first stage. One flight only.

The "used" look came from the original props and SFX guys. They knew what looked good on camera, and had to talk GL out of making all of the ships into shiny Flash Gordon rocketships.

Just looks like there's a little discoloration on it, but other than that she's in perfect shape.

I'm fairly sure they won't launch this rocket again before it's back to "new and shiny" state.

Lol! Soooo many problems with this analogy.

You and several other people have joined to say you don't want the N-1, but are still not the majority opinion. Meaning the choir is more than half made up of "atheists".

This is also up on the main page where everyone can see it. If someone sees this thread and passes it by, it is likely that they don't care enough to join the conversation. That indicates not much caring one way or another about the N-1 coming into the game. If you are right, we should be swimming in negative comments, instead of them being the minority in this thread.

Like I pointed out before, one can dislike the prequels and still be alright with elements of such. Ewan McGregor was a part of the prequels, and yet I keep hearing people expressing a desire for a solo Obi Wan movie with McGregor staring.

And finally, your narrow view of what a Star Wars fan is rather shameful. People can enjoy the prequels and still be Star Wars fans, just as a person who has just played the games or read the books can be a Star Wars fan, or someone who just likes the Original Trilogy. Those who advocate for more prequel ships in X-Wing aren't atheists. They are, at most, Presbyterians to your Baptists. (Well, Catholic and Protestant might be a better analogy.)

That Falcon first stage looks a lot better than the Saturn V first stages...the ones they launched all burned up and fell in the ocean.

the shuttles looked pretty and shiny until you got real close and noticed the patchwork nature of the tiles and such.  And some of those flew dozens of times.

the 'lived in' look is visually more interesting certainly but chrome also makes a statement, like 'kiss my royal ass you lowly peasants.

also, even though fire engines get used on a daily basis firefighters will wash and shine those things up to sparkle as good as new.  It all depends on what the culture and practices are that determine the look of vehicles.

Yeah. The Outer Rim is a "looks don't matter much," culture while Naboo is more of an "ooh! Shiny" culture. I know that's really simplified, but I think it gets the point across.

I would like to point out that the leaked trailer for the new BF suggests that the game will feature the prequels. More, ALL ERAS seem to be a major marketing point, and it's not a surprise considering a huge number of people disappointed that it wasn't the case in the first disaster of a game.

Just look at the comments under any news about this game, there is a very high chance that the most popular/upvoted/liked comment is asking for the Clone Wars.

So apparently extremely greedy EA with a huge budget for market research is not afraid of taking the "risk" of including prequel content in one of their most important games that they aim to sell in millions of copies, but any prequel ship in X-wing (except those already in...) will totally kill FFG.

I know my favorite faction to play as in the old Battlefront series was the Republic, even though Destroyer Droids were my bane.

Prequel fans are Star Wars fans too, and they aren't asking for Eta-2s, Droid Starships etc. They are asking for one ship, the N-1 which has a basis within the OT thanks to recent canon material...

Actually, I would wrestle a wampa if they would bring in an Eta-2 or an Aethersprite. Those ships are sexy.

people hate the prequels i get that, but let's consider WHY people hate the prequels:

1. Jar Jar but before jar jar there were teddy bears

2. obnoxious anakin we can blame that on actors and script

hmn... that's about it.

note what's NOT on that list:

1. CGI - not perfect but still exciting to watch

2. BATTLES! (maybe not the Gungan grand army) the prequels brought the WARS into star WARS and I feel they did that well.

this leaves me with the conclusion that even if they brought the most hated characters into star wars then as long as they don't talk and their abilities are thematic (we already have anakin's) then they CANNOT hurt X-Wing except by acknowledging that the prequels EXIST which they ALREADY DID so unless you are so hurt that you can't tell a gundark from an ewok it would be a major benefit to X-wing as adding more ships and/or factions would cause diversity to skyrocket and secure profitability for years to come

TL:DR the starships aren't what make the prequels bad, therefore I see no problem with the prequels in X-wing

I see this a lot and I just don't get it. The aethersprite is just a triangle with no distinguishing features. Why does everyone seem to like it so much? Even if I don't agree with the people that like the Arc and the gunboat, I can at least comprehend liking them, but the aethersprite is the most boring ship design in Star Wars. There isn't anything TO like about it.
