smart choices, if you can't get T-65's, BTL-3's, AS/F-01's or RZ-1's at least. i suspect that the stuff we saw the Rebellion use during the OT still makes up a lot of the New Republic member's fleets, and is thus not only less readily available, but also more likely to attract attention from the New Republic's Intelligence services. Clone Wars vintage gear would be super common (because so much of it was made for the old republic, and for the early empire) and less likely to attract notice.

Also like, less than half the cost.

I was thinking an autopilot upgrade could come with the N-1 that makes you copy the same maneuver on the next turn, but you can rotate 45 degrees at the end of that move for free.   To simulate what happened in episode 1.

Assuming it comes with barrel roll and at least one pilot with an EPT slot, you could have just the 2nd ship (t-70 being the first) that can take flight assist astromech and intensity, and on some turns be able to boost, barrel roll, and get a focus/evade token all at once without any stress!

E-wing can do that. X-wing, Y-wing, ARC-170 and Sheathipede too with the right upgrades.

That being said, Intensity is one of my favorite EPT’s. I’d love to have an N-1 ace that can make good use of it. Maybe something like Poe’s ability except with evade tokens.

”When defending, if you have an evade token, you may change one of your blank results to an evade result.”

OR a kind of built-in Juke.

“When attacking, if you have an evade token, you may change up to 2 of the defender’s focus results to blank results.”

@Captain Lackwit @mithril2098 @SabineKey @TheVeteranSergeant

Do this thread a favor and take your non-N-1 argument somewhere else.

I would really appreciate it if you each go back and edit your posts.  Please contribute to the N-1 and the community at large in friendly fashion without any of the snark or insults that have plagued your most recent posts.

Asking somebody to be less snarky with loads of snark? C'mon dude, don't be like that.

I’m not sure what you perceived as snark on my part. My intent was sincere. You and the other specified individuals wasted an abundance of time and energy polluting an otherwise healthy thread.

If you highlight the exact portion of my post you perceived as snark, I will edit it as a good faith gesture that I genuinely was just trying to get this thread back on the rails.

well, "Since you all seem to have so much time on your hands" is a touch derisive, man. That's all, nothing huge.

I would love to see this ship N1 and the V-Wing in the next week.

V-Wing a split ship for two factions for sure; Everything about Nym aside I love the idea of pilot in same ship in different faction with different ability.

I think there is a solid case for all 3.

V-Wing (Double Faction Ship (Rebel and Empire?)

Jedi Star Fighter (derp Rebel)

N1 - (Rebel)

And then for the large base

The Gauntlet (Scum) (Maul,  Nightbrother Savage Opress, Black Sun Vetern and some random 4th)

For it to really combo with Intensity you need either an ability to gain at least one extra token, gain an extra boost or roll action, or reliably keep a token to the end of the round whilst still getting some utility out of it.

E.g. Snap's ability, Poe's ability, Guri's ability, Vader's ability.

So for instance:

After you execute a straight manoeuvre, do a free boost or barrel roll action.

After rolling defence dice when you have an evade token, before the Attacker Modifies Defence Dice step, if you rolled 0 or 1 evade results, add one evade result.

At the end of the activation phase, if there is at least one enemy ship in your firing arc at range 1-3, assign an evade token to your ship.

^ I like this one ^ means you gotta take a risk with been in arc.

The latter two assume the N1 has boost or barrel roll on its bar of course.  But I think that's a safe assumption.

Or that it has an astro slot and you use BB8.

I too love Intensity, and I like the idea of building around it, which basically leaves you with those four ships as models for how to run it: able to get multiple tokens in a round without it (Guri, Vader), able to disengage well enough to restock it without being attacked too much and get multiple actions in a round with it (Snap), and/or able to reliably keep tokens without it (Poe).

Anyone with Tech is now also a potential candidate given Advanced Optics, but that's a less useful combo, as is Comm Relay, because you ideally want to be spending a token to recover Intensity most rounds.

(I've played Intensity Guri and Intensity FAA Snap a whole bunch.  It's such an interesting card.)

Intensity is one of my all time top 5 cards that have come out; It's a great card; great mechanic and means you have to balance risk and reward.

More ships that have that as an genuine option the better.

hmm..

the N-1 seemed fairly agile, so 3 agility seems likely. the lasers are kinda undersized, so probably only 2 there. hull and shields i'm not sure about. probably Z-95ish level given its small size and age.. 2 hull, 2 shields.

Barrel roll seems likely, given Anakin's use of spinning in the film to (unintentionally) avoid being hit. so Focus, target lock, barrel roll.. and i'd say Reload. because it had two torpedo systems firing from a common port, giving it a large payload (but obviously slow rate of fire). since giving it two torp slots seems a bit unbalancing, why not play with the new mechanics some? slots would be Astro and torpedo, with EPT's as appropriate for the pilots.

dial wise i'd say lots of turns and banks, but probably not terribly fast. they never seemed to be terribly speedy, just really maneuverable.

I totally agree with your assessment of Intensity. The pilot abilities I posted belong in the last category. I’d like to pair them with an action economy title. Maybe something like this:

“After you execute a maneuver, if you are not stressed and you did not overlap an obstacle, you may perform a free barrel roll action.”

Scratch that last one, I just had a better title idea.

“During the activation phase, after the ‘move ship’ step, if your maneuver template did not overlap an obstacle, you may perform a free barrel roll action.”

So kinda like X7 but for an action?

There are some differences.

1 - This would still resolve if the ship’s final position overlapped a ship or obstacle.

2. It resolves before check pilot stress, so it would function in some ways like Pattern Analyzer.
