N-1 Starfighter

The N-1 Starfighter is a playable starfighter for the Galactic Republic in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II.

It can only be used on Theed where it replaces the ARC-170 Starfighter used on other maps.

Yeah, but only under 2 scenarios:

1.  You have eyes on your shins.

2.  It was armed with a Red Rider.

Come on, now.  A dik-dik's eyes are all wrong for precision marksmanship!  They'd probably be better suited in a "spray 'n' prey" class.

You guys kill me.

We've already got Maul, Ahsoka, Rex, and Hondo, all from the Clone Wars.

Kylo can fly with his dead grandpa.

We've got Tarn Mison, an X-Wing pilot that is actually never seen in battle that has a 0.0003 sec cameo on the ground on Hoth.

But then suddenly, come prequels, DON'T CROSS THE STREAMS ERAS!!

You are not wrong: FFG really messed the timeline, specially by adding the New Trilogy stuff.

BUT, since the New Trilogy is just a copy of the Original Trilogy, it was easy to adapt them into the existing (mother) factions. That's not the case of the Clone Wars factions.

PS: and no, Kylo Ren doesn't fly with his grandfather in my table. I will never own any New Trilogy ships and Clone Wars era ships, unless the Clone Wars ships are inserted into the Galactic Civil War. Which happens to the N-1.

Yeah, I guess I'm just not that picky.  Now that there are enough ships, I might try a FO only list, but for me that's just like trying a Red-Only Goblin deck for MTG--it just for the fun of seeing what happens and what I can manage.

Battlefront II is embracing all eras, probably because they realize there are different strokes for different folks.

There is a lot of material available in the Clone Wars era, and I think a lot of people would like to see it in this game.  Maybe it's 2 new factions for XWM, maybe it is a separate subset of the game that isn't officially mixed in.  In both cases it would be a chance to play with some design ideas, not worry about duplicating existing roles, and see the Clone Wars on the table.  But as long as they were mutually compatible, I have no probs with Ani in an N1 fighting Vader and Kylo on my dining room table.

For me, the only negative would be not seeing the OT get filled out.  OTOH, I'm getting to the point where I don't think FFG cares about fleshing out the nooks and crannies of the OT stuff; they just want new ships and new mechanics for a new meta.  Which means I'll never see the other Inquisitors in a TAP, or a Shuttle Tydirium title, because those ships aren't broken enough for a revisit.

Never, hopefully. This is a fighter of the size of the TIE ball (would look very weird in the small base), and was clearly made only to sell toys.

Yeah, it looked like something significant on the BF2 website.  I now see it's pretty stupid.

Just so you know, we have the ARC-170.

No sir, no it is not. The Battlefront II 2 model is a full ETA-2 Actis Interceptor.

You're thinking of this stupid thing.

Yeah, Overcharge briefly gives you the fire rate of a TIE Fighter from Rogue Squadron II.

Nothing more.

Sorry but that's just pile of crap. You are basically saying that you hate mixing eras unless it's good for you. In that case, you find some BS of evidence that will justify it in your head. I too have read the comic (another pile of crap if you ask me) and I would also like to see N-1 fighter in the game but... dude!

Disclaimer: I don't mean bad, I say that because recently I realized the same from my perspective. I only play TFA era ships in Rebels (Resistence) and yes, I am bitter about ARC-170 and Azuituck but it lead me to play OT Era ships in Scum. I personally don't mix timelines.

Running on "Gunboat Theory", if this thread gets over 300+ pages. FFG will/should add a N1.

I love gunboat. but the N1 has a stronger case within current cannon.

And if this Thread expands at the current rate you will get your N1 announced on the 20th dec 2028.
Stay strong its only 11 years.

The N-1 will have a cannon slot?!

Uhm mixing eras/timelines != using clone wars ships to the GCW

Exactly.

I'm advocating the N-1 Starfighter because of it's role in the GCW, not because I want the floodgates of the Prequel Trilogy opened (yet) in X-Wing.

So moar shiptoasting; got it.

Ya know, has there been any rationale for ze goggles on Naboo pilot uniforms ? I mean, it doesn't appear that they are HUD enabled, or shaded to help against solar glare, and if the canopy gets cracked in space, getting wind in your eyes is the least of your worries in that suit...

Sorry if this has already been answered earlier :P

The Naboo Defense Forces are 100%  Style and 0 % Competence. These Guys need a spinning 6years old snot-nosed brat to get them out of trouble.
