Will Scum & Villainy develop their own Bomb Meta with the Scurrg H-6?

6 posts in this topic

Hi all,

So I took a closer look at what we know about the Scurrg H-6 Bomber and think there is some good potential for the S&V faction to develop a few bombing lists.

What do you all think?

Well what bomb meta is there? You have K-wing cluster mines with Sabrine throwing stuff out the window and that is as far as it goes. TIE Bombers and TIE Punishers never made it, Y-wings don't give up their unused torpedo slots, and the Firespray who is probably the most versatile bomber with both EM and Andrastia title giving a decent capacity more than any other large ship still are no where to be seen.

Bombs need to go in an Ace-wing meta to be any good, problem is with conventional desighn choices Bombers are supposed to be ponderous and tough, not fast and speedy, using the skill of the pilot to cut across a ship and drop bombs. But then again that also means withstanding a round of combat with evey ship trying to destroy you before you drop it in their inevitable path.

Bombs need repositioning to be good. SLAM, in conjunction with Sabine, is what makes Rebel bombs good. Likewise, Deathfire is good on the Imperial side because he's cheap and can reposition and bomb in the same turn.

I think what bomblet generator can bring to the table can revolutionize bombing. It really just depends under what conditions it triggers. Same goes for Minefield Mapper. And who knows what the new astro does?

The great thing about the Scurrg is that with it's absolute plethora of upgrade slots, there isn't really much it can't do. Additionally, with the tallon rolls and white 4 straight visible, seems to indicate a pretty decent and usable dial, which combined with barrel roll can make mobility a non-issue. Crew slot allows for lots of great options, since for Scum and Rebel both crew are supremely powerful options. Title to add the system and salvaged slot is also super useful, just coming at the cost of crew, and at zero points it once again allows it to change it's mission profile at will.

This is the definitive multirole scum small ship.

Too soon to tell.  Depends on dial.

But potentially the Scurrg is a good bomber, TLT carrier, AND missile boat, much like the K-wing.

Agree with all the above, well said.

Now if only that was true for a ship that is actually supposed to be that versatile I. E the Firespray then I wouldn't be sat here collecting salt.

It's a shame that a ship made famous due to its pilot and bomb generator is going to be represented in the game as a very customisable small Base, should of been a large Base turret/bomber/Pursuit Craft.
