SlappyWhite 17 Posted March 19, 2017 (edited) In the RRG it says you may trigger a crit effect and that every ship has a base crit effect of first card face up. Consider the scenario you have a corvette with med team and no shields. You have rolled 1 crit 3 hits after the spend defense tokens is over. I am assuming you can choose not use the crit effect to just deal 4 facedown cards and not risk the med team triggering. You are correct but the crit effects are so powerful why wouldn't you want to use them?

Because, like his example specified, there are specific instances (like Med Team) in which you would rather not. 2 WGNF911 and Green Knight reacted to this

His example isn't clear as his ship has medical teams and just rolled a critical.

If the faceup damage card is of the Crew type, Medical Teams discards it instead - so the ship survives. If the card is dealt facedown, the ship is certain to blow up. It matters. I got confused because in my head his scenario sounded like was saying his own ship rolled the critical and was the same ship that had medical teams. WGNF911 826 Posted March 21, 2017 I know a guy this would work against. It never occurred to me that it was optional. I hate the way he gloats when he uses his medical team. Thanks for posting. 5 SlappyWhite, Ardaedhel, Flengin and 2 others reacted to this
