Silverback_Jedi 11 Posted March 18, 2017 I've started an AoR game with my regular RPG group. This is my first time as GM. We started with Beginner game and we are currently at Operation Shadowpoint. Whisper base defenses (pag 38) are listed as follows: Quote The base’s defenses (most of which were bypassed on their own approach and assault) include a number of light sentry guns deployed around the perimeter, a heavier anti-aircraft battery on the base’s roof, shock fieldsat key choke points on the grounds, and a defensive shield that can be raised over the base, both to stoplanding craft from getting close and to defend against incoming fire Sentry Guns, shock fields and defensive shields are explained in the book. However, the "heavier anti-aircraft battery" is nowhere to be found! I'm assuming a profile similar to the TOWER LIGHT ANTI-VEHICLE BATTERY or D-11 Anti Infantry Battery (in Lead by example) with a Lase Cannon (light), assuming vehicle mounted. Is this ok? Or overpowered when facing Moff Dardano Air Wing with 2 Tie Interceptor and a Tie Bomber? Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
awayputurwpn 7,720 Posted March 18, 2017 (edited) Why not just copy the weapon from the retrofitted, antiaircraft AT-AT that is written up for the same encounter? Easy peasy. Or os just a description for being Link? If I use the turret profile from Lead by Example, the AA Battery will have silhouete 1. This mean that it will shoot Moff Air Wing with an easy Gunnery check? Stethoscope Nunchucks 9 Posted April 17, 2017 Ignore the "2" cannons when assigning initial damage and hits. It does apply to Link though, and is what gives you Link 1. (For each cannon, you get a chance at an additional hit). Compare it to an Xwing, which has for lasers, and thus has a link of 3. Ir seams way to effective as AA gun. Weapons just require you look at the wording. "2 medium laser cannons....linked 1" means one weapon system composed of a set of linked cannons. So 1 attack with the linked quality. "3 quad turbo lasers....linked 3" means three weapon systems composed of a set of four guns each. Yeah, remember the emplaced weapons in LbE are anti-speeder and anti-infantry. So Sil 1 makes sense. Looking at the the defense gun you see on the map of Whisper Base, making that defense turret a linked 1 medium or heavy laser on a Sil 2 or 3 turret would be appropriate.
