Also, regarding Matt and I's game I have this to add-

Have you ever had a game were you know you were hopelessly screwed right before you even set your first dial? I got so busy rushing trying to start the game and go go go that I totally and completely forgot Spynets. I deployed to do nothing but keep my fleet totally safe and escape with minimal losses. Then he spynetted his ISD right in front of me at max speed and I was trapped. Matt played this one perfectly, gave me no easy choices, and took advantage of my forgetfulness in an incredibly skilled way that I have to give him big props for. From that point it was like shooting fish in a barrel. Turn 3 I crunched numbers in my head and didn't think I would be too bad off however. I figured giving average or even slightly above average rolls his ISD wouldn't kill Yavaris and my flotilla until the beginning of round 4, where I could still hyperspace them out. But it wasn't to be. ISD rolled 3 doubles, not a single blank, and no accuracies on Yavaris overloading the redundant brace with sheer damage and killing him, then rolled 2 accuracies and average damage on the flotilla. Had the rolls been reversed, both would have survived, but that's the nature of the game.

All in all, from start to finish, it was by far the worst game of Armada I have played in the last year. I have nothing positive to say about my showing, only positive things to say regarding Matt as a good dude and a great opponent!

I played at work, and Broba played at home (late, after hockey). Neither circumstance was ideal, but them's the breaks.

Sorry if I was a bit clinical in my moves and target choices, it's just I've been playing your team mate Gregg Doobleg and he brings a nightmare Jan/Biggs ball to our local tournaments. I fed 6 YT2400s into it like it was a food-processor the first time I met it, so have been working on ways to try spread it out, pick it apart and make it less powerful.

Your fleet is excellent though, and I don't think I'll get off so easily next time we meet :D

Rebel chatter has been non-existent since the end of the last round, but I'll have an opportunity to sort out my fleet tomorrow (once we know how many repair/fleet points we have available). :)

Sorry for the long silence. Last week was a bit ... unusual. It started with me being rescued out of this car after a pregnant (!)  women crashed into my rear with insane speed. As one of my local Armada players mentioned, I have got more than one damage card in this accident. However, luckily there was no Injured Crew card among them. Nevertheless, the aftermath of it (like buying a new car) prevented me from any serious armadaing.

And the week ended with me marrying my partner. Because I guessed that if I spend time on that weekend with fleet building she might be a bit upset, I postponed it :)

It will take some more days until all the work of last week will be concluded, but soon The Rebellion Strikes Back!

Thank you! :D

I have updated the web page: round 2

According to my calculations, Imperials have 45 refit + 78,3 resources per player, Rebels 45 refit + 60,3 resources each.

@MattShadowlord: I lost track of your fleet points with all the confusion that there was. Do you have any unspent resources from round 1?

I am a bit confused about the current stat of campaign points. Here is my calculation without the +1 ruling:

Imperial Victories:

  • Polanis (Defender): 1
  • Corfai (Attacker): 0 (Show of Force)
  • Froz (Defender): 1
  • Forvand (Attacker): 0

Rebel Victories:

  • Crash's Drift (Attacker): 1
  • Plympto (Attacker): 0

That means 2-1 for the Imps.

If we have the +1 ruling for the assaulting players, the list looks like this:

Imperial Victories:

  • Polanis (Defender): 1
  • Corfai (Attacker): 0 (Show of Force)
  • Froz (Defender): 1
  • Forvand (Attacker): 0+1

Rebel Victories:

  • Crash's Drift (Attacker): 1+1
  • Plympto (Attacker): 0+1

That means 3-3.

What are the rules we are using?

I was out of town when the FAQ dropped, and have been incredibly busy at work trying to get ahead for my trip next week and have not had a chance to read it yet.

Do any of the decisions written there impact our campaign going forward?

You can still snipe whilst engaged. If engaged by escort you must snipe/attack an escort unit.

Hyperlane Raid - If the scores are tied, first player wins.

Talfagio is +0, Corfai is +2.

Ok so very little. And that change to hyperlane raid is odd. Fixes the problem I guess. So now does the rebel player just turtle to force the Imp to drive into him with his bonus point laden ships against a first player threat?

Eh Im probably overreacting and need to test playing it the new way. Hopefully it fixes it brilliantly!

You are overreacting.

The imperial player sends one raider to cross the blockade line at the end of turn 6 and thus take the 20pts and victory. 40 resource points in the bag.
