Google "[your OS] increase JVM heap allocation" to increase your allocated memory, which should mitigate this.

Here's the most obnoxious video I could find for how to do it on Windows 10. Except where she says 512m, use 1g instead (to allocate 1Gb instead of 1/2).

Ah... you're not supposed to Zoom in Vassal?  This may explain the ghosting I was getting.

Zoom is fine. Just don't zoom in to extreme level, like the corner of a ship base filling the screen.

Everything looking good - round 1 was completed with all games played on time!

Some games have run...very long indeed. I hope that in the 2nd round players are a little bit more familiar with the controls, and will make every effort to speed up their play. Remember that the faster you play, the more fun you'll have. And you opponent too

Round 2 has begun, with deadline next Sunday. The winners of last round now face other winners; who will float to the top and who will sink into the muddy bottom? And who among last round's "losers" will claw their way back up the ladder? Who will sit at the top table in round 3?

Due to the large number of players entering the Freshman Spring 2017 I'll be splitting the event into two.

Basically I was hoping for 8+ players, but now fast approaching 30...

So to make things easier for everyone, we'll have one NA (and Australia) and one Euro tournament. 3 rounds Swiss, entirely separate from one another.

That should take away much of the scheduling pressure. This is about learning and building community, so I think it's a wise move.

If you would object/provide feedback on this, do it ASAP, or it will become reality come morning.

Then, after we're done, I'll run a new 3 rounds Swiss Tourney.

The top 4 from each group will be qualified (but are oc free to decline if they can't or won't participate).

In addition there will be 4 Wild Card entries:

• Admiral Congeniality (chosen by popular vote)
• Admiral Creativitality (player with the most creative list - TO choice)
• Admiral Crushability (player with highest VP score - not MoV - in any game)
• Admiral Chanceability (player chosen at random)
