Stop trying to be clever and just hit things with a hammer or three.

As with many others I'm currently experimenting. Though I've been doing it for few weeks rather than beimg an FAQ inspired thing.

I got bored of trying  to come up with killer combos and decided to just smash some faces with a Scum Aces list that's been festering in the back of my mind for weeks. It's been pretty funny to play and is 2-0 in early tests.  I doubt that it's ever going g to be up for list of the year but there is a certain appeal to constantly rolling 5 attack dice..

G-1A Starfighter: · Zuckuss (28)
     Veteran Instincts (1)
     Fire Control System (2)
     · Ketsu Onyo (1)
     · Mist Hunter (0)
     Tractor Beam (1)

Kihraxz Fighter: · Talonbane Cobra (28)
     Predator (3)
     Vectored Thrusters (2)

Protectorate Starfighter: · Fenn Rau (28)
     Push The Limit (3)
     Autothrusters (2)
     Concord Dawn Protector (1)
-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

Flies differently to any ace list I've used before except for Fenn being pretty much Soontir like.

It's about as subtle as a brick but PS deletes things like a dream.  I've got good mileage out of the Mist Hunter especially. The barrel roll is obviously great at PS9 but tractor beam and Ketsu on board seems solid too.

Edit.. I'd literally never flown my G1A before partly because Zukkus crew was just too good to use the pilot but I really like the ship on this limited experience.  Sure it will go down to focus fire quick but they have to survive the incoming barrage long enough to do that to him!

I fly Scum primarily, and prefer janky small-base lists.  And I am getting awfully tired of getting roflstomped by large-base mega-damage lists.  Can you provide any feedback on your list against such opponents?  Do you fly tight formation to ensure maximum focus fire, or do you have enough practice to bring ships separated widely at deployment into a focused position?

Test games were against a Miranda Nora list and against two bombing TLT K's with Ahsoka escort.

It's limited so far.

I like to split up a little but not so far they can't all collapse in on a single target.  Main reason to split is that it gives the option to fly more defensively with a ship that it seems my opponent is gunning for.  Tbh though in the two games I just accepted the potential damage and aimed to delete things before they could do too much.

This list kills any K wing or ARC in one turn fairly reliably I think if it gets all guns on. Two shots is a serious hurting and possibly a kill with good dice.   They have to decide to SLAM before you move anyone which is a big help. They dont know for sure if they need to GTFO and in fact you may have predicted a slam and be right there to meet them with no return fire if they do.

I'd predict it will do equally well against most big ships simply due to the volume of fire I could put on it.

Asajj will give Fenn kittens due to PTL and the other two have limited greens so that would be a concern to face.  Not sure I could one round a standard Latts build.   Also typical Imp ace builds with initiative bids could give it the run around.  Be Wednesday before I can rest against any thing else but I think there may be a Rey list to play against so I'll post how it goes.

I don't think K the list is too tier competitive by any stretch but should be good fun against most "chunk" style lists.

Unless I get distracted by a different list idea!

I like these three ships. I don't have Vectored Thrusters or Ketsu, so my build was a little bit different. Talonbane had Glitterstim + Crack Shot so he could try to wipe something out on the first pass and then be a nuisance afterward. Also gave him Engine Upgrade to close into range 1 more often, which meant no FCS on Zuckuss. I deleted a First Order squad quite handily, but had trouble against a beefy Rebel build where Wedge and Keyan did massive damage at range 3 of Zuckuss and took him out before he could fire a second time.

Adding Ketsu to your list seems like a neat idea. My problem with it is that I think you want Zuckuss firing primaries more often than not, so that you can really take advantage of all 3 hammers. Using Tractor Beam makes Zuckuss a bit more of a Tech piece. I think 4-LOM + Electronic Baffle is a better way to make Zuckuss hit like a truck.

I have flown a list 99% identical to this and it works like a charm. I was using PTL for Talonbane too, and had Boba crew on Zuckus iirc.

I beat Kanan/Biggs with it no problem, and even imp aces and triple x7 defenders (the latter gave me the best run for my money by far.

I also tried a mindlink version of the list, but i preferred the one without it by far.

I got a lot of mileage out of the tractor+Ketsu-Fenn combo.

Ok you sacrifice fire but first engagement is where Tractor shines. Making it a 4 die roll with Zukkus ability is golden especially as they only get the bonus die for his ability but not the range bonus as it's obviously a secondary weapon.

My opponents have been so concerned with the damage potential they forget about the tractor.

Until I stick them in a rock that they then have to also fly through next turn..  say good bye to this turns shot and next turns action.  Well worth it to reduce incoming damage.

If it wasn't range 3 then Ketsu also means they keep the token so Zukkus gets to take advantage of his own tractor beam next turn.

All that said I did you with alternate crew for a while including 4LOM.  I'm happy with Ketsu so far though and she would only better against higher agility lists.

Yes, I absolutely agree that Tractor Beam is awesome on Zuckuss. There have been so many moments where Zuckuss' Tractor Beam was exactly what I needed. With this list in particular, it's great because you can pull an enemy into range 1 before Talonbane and Fenn fire. That can be amazing. My impression was that Ketsu would make you want to use the Tractor Beam more often, but I suppose it's still just one more option. I'd try it if I had a Shadowcaster.

I think against higher agility I'd be more tempted to try stack the tractor tokens for sure. Against the the lists I faced so far, 1 is absolutely all you need lol.

But yeah it's more a 'toolkit' choice to have her in there.

I was testing an almost identical list :-)

My Talonbane Cobra has Lightning Reflexes and an EMP device (in lieu of predator) , and Fenn Fearlessness (in lieu of PTL), leaving 2 point for initiative bid (which I think is essential in this list).

It's very fun to fly, but in the few games I tried the list, I couldn't take full advantage of Ketsu and Tractor Beam.

Yeah for wider play an initiative bid would be good but I don't see too much PS9 here amongst the better players. They tend to like their chunky ships so I just thought I'd take advantage and spend the full 100.

I'm not sure it's a massive issue though. Not often you see lists with multiple PS9 in tournie land though be Interesting to see what the meta does post FAQ.
