Agnes vs Aloof

So I was trying out Curse of the Rougarou for the first time, and I was playing solo with Agnes.

Is it correct that I am able to move to the Rougarou (who has Aloof), then at the end of my turn, take 1 horror from Curse of the Rougarou, then deal 1 damage to the Rougarou even though it has Aloof? Aloof seems to only prevent engagement.

The Rougarou was then forced to move away, and I would just repeat every turn for 5 turns and win? This seemed a bit cheesy to me but I wanted to find out if I played it by the book or if there was some interaction I missed there!

Yes, Aloof only prevents engagement. But Agnes does have to be in the same location to ping a monster with damage, and the Rougarou has pretty specific instructions on where it must move.

Yes, but when you are playing solo, there is no location more than 3 moves away, so every turn I can just move 3 times, force Curse at end of turn since I dealt no damage, trigger my special, and repeat...

If you're always capable of moving three locations without being slowed down by alligators, gugs (who will be hunting you), or being dragged under the waters, more power to you.

Yeah I just played this scenario with Agnes solo and it was incredibly easy with her ability.
