No Disintegrations UK

Forged in Battle and Special Modifications did arrive in the UK on time - I bought copies a couple of days after they came in stock here. They sold out fast, though.

I am not in UK, but instead in austria and neither of my two FLGS ever got copies before it sold out. I am not sure if the local distributor ever got copies to send out Forged in Battle, i doubt it.

SM did arrive after 3 months as mentioned, sold out more or less immediately like everywhere else. :)

For no disintegrations the german-speaking region is now in the hands of the UK distributor, might have been the case for Forged in Battle too, no idea, Asmodee rearranged their european distributions network with first taking away the english language versions from their german distribution partner and buying that partner afterwards, but handling now the english products via Esdevium. ^_^

Either way, forged in battle never reached local stores here, nor did no disintegrations so far. :)

The normal time lag between the US and availabilty in the UK has passed twice over and Ive preordered every book since the Edge core , I ordered it from Australia after it got to about that twice over period and have now received my copy. I also still have it preordered from my usual UK store and it is still not in stock, we are now looking at getting close to three times the usual lag in the UK.

Where from in Aus did you get it from?

My eBay seller was "beatthebombau"; that can't be a coincidence.

Im fairly sure it isnt a coincidence also, however im mnot a fan of ebay, and didnt want to order that way, payed slightly more but id rather pay a reasonable price and have it, than end up looking at £100 a copy to buy it in the UK or other EU location that likes to rip people off. Fwiw I still have it on preorder in the UK in case I get it but my friend doesnt. So I could end up with two copies of it if I did and my friend got his I would put it up for grabs here for any thst didnt get a copy.

Given the book is now out of print in the US, and that again for some bizarre reason, FFG's print runs are significantly under supply or allow for re-orders by stores, I'm wondering what's going on with the lines in general.

It's 6 weeks since release in the US and the book is still not available in the UK. Customers have been ordering it from the US and Australia in the hope of getting hold of the book.

Increasingly it looks as if FFG just haven't bothered to send it to the UK/EU at all which, coming after so many under-supplied releases, leads to questions about FFG's commitment to the EU market entirely.

Suffice to say, ever since they got bought by Asmodee, it's been bloody awful and the promised improvement in distribution now looks like a joke.

There could be a whole host of reasons, the shipment may have gone astray, it also could literally have fallen off that boat. Would you believe that floating seafreight containers can stay afloat for some time and are potentially a bigger hazard than icebergs for boats, icebergs are mapped and followed, containers are harder to follow. If the entire European shipment fell off it can take a few weeks to know it was that container that has gone astray, and then the company have to claim through their transport insurance and arrange a new shipment. So if the books went missing or worse, stolen it could lead to an additional 2-3 weeks time on top of the 2 weeks shipping we normally seem to get. Note none of this would be FFGs fault and could've be avoided.

Even assuming this was what happened ( and while it is possible , it is a complete stab in the dark) , I am also making the assumption that they had stock to replace it with, and if not they may be holding out that the container shows up at the wrong port. These are just some of the hazards of transport, a business I know all too well and worked in all too long, although my forte was road transport and European distribution from the UK.

Except with modern containers and tracking, it would be known that that container would be missing. This is also incredibly rare and unlikely, to the point the law of parsimony means i'm just going to discount it.

Esdevium's response to stores is that they don't know when they'll be receiving it. FFG are refusing to answer the multiple emails and questions they've received.

No matter what, it's bad customer service

Them not answering emails is not unusual ive had maybe 10% of my rules questions answered , and the one I did get an answer to took about 2 months to get an answer. Their customer service being terrible is nothing new.

The current recommendation on that is to submit them as edge of empire questions regardless of book, as they get answered!

Do get me started on the Adversary decks

If you do order them from Fantasy flight, and pay the ridiculous shipping costs.  They then get delivered at my work before anyone was there and then you get the run around for 9 weeks as USPS don't answer any inquiries and FFG palm you off by saying it will take up to 8 weeks to deliever and they will not do anything before that time, and now I'm 9 weeks in and they are now ignoring my emails.. So I'm $50+ out of pocket I don't have the adversary decks and I'm just leave feeling completely deflated and betrayed by a company I thought cared about its customers, seriously thinking about black listing them, selling all my books (i have everything for Star Wars) and never buying another FFG product

We are sorry to hear that USPS has not yet delivered your order. The following is our return policy:

We can offer you a refund in the form of store credit, we cannot do refunds via credit cards as we do not have credit card information for consumers’ protection. Cost of shipping to and from cannot be refunded. Account credit does not expire and can be used at any time towards future purchases - when placing an order, please include in the comments section that you would like to use your store credit. For international customers: We do not recommend selecting USPS First Class Intl as it is the slowest and can take 1-3 months to arrive, and does not include updated tracking information.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to let me know!

Ok I am officially devastated, I feel utterly let down by a company I championed in my local area, one I have brought many to buy their products by 'converting' many gamers and even introduced non gamers to the hobby using their products.  People who have gone on to buy FFGs books and games.  And now they are basically telling me we gave you an option to use an extremely dodgy method of shipping, one that cost over $30 mind you (for three decks of cards!!!!!!)  I got it sent to a place that I have never had problems getting things sent to before.. a place I have had products sent to from all over the world.

No more.. they have effectively stolen $50+ from me .. so I am afraid I have only one recourse.  FFG you are now black listed.. I will never purchase another of your products, I will never run another one of your games, I will never suggest anyone purchases your products.. in fact I will use this example of how shodderly I have been treated as an example why people should spend their money else where.. I know this means nothing to the bottom line but it is the only thing I can do now.

I will be selling the whole of my back catalogue of games, first to friends and then on ebay

Sorry to hear your troubles and yes it sucks.

On the refund note, did you pay by credit/debit card or by Pay Pal. Unfortunately, if it was Pay Pal you are pretty much stuck with it.

On the other hand, if it was by Credit Card, you can go to your card provider and say that you were charged for a product that was never received and they should refund you (you may have some paperwork and a time delay, but in the end it is normally worth it). Effectively you are telling the card provider you were ripped off or mislead by FFG and they make the refund claim through their process.

I paid by credit card, and am talking to them to get a refund

I feel like they have treated me terribly and the smug final reply i got just cemented the fact that they truely do not care about there community, we are just ways to make money

Hi Paul,

We are sorry to hear that and apologize for our return policy being an inconvenience to you. If you do decide that you would like to be refunded on your account, we would be happy to process that for you.

Thank you

The refund was only the cost of the product not the shipping, which was 150% of the product cost. So they can enjoy the products they make, but i will not be buying anymore

Just make sure to claim your credit card money, that is basically enough punishment for FFG already, no reason for any hard feelings imho. Rest assured, if this happens a few times they lose their ability to accept credit cards as the card companies do not like those refunds. So it should be a rare issue, either because no one is stupid enough to order from the FFG store or because it went well usually. In either case it is still mind-boggling that FFG has an online store, but no procedure to claim insurance on lost orders.

I mean even on consumer grade mail here is a insurance up to 50€ attached, which would cover for FFG easily to just re-send you those cards for little to no effort. How can this be even in issue in a professional multi-billion euro corporation conglomerate?

My GM has stated on several occasions now that he's '... had it with FFG.' IIRC he had issues getting hold of a copy of SpecMods. He eventually got a copy but it was very close to the end of UK availability.

I too am now in the mindset to move to greener pastures. If I don't get a copy of ND from second printing I will definitely call it a day, even though I'd like to get the F&D career splat  just to round out all player options I'm going to cut my losses.

Maybe Star Wars d20, at least you know what your getting with that :D I won't be disappointed or have my hopes dashed by WoTC... and there's a shed load of pdfs online. I have Star Frontiers sitting in the loft at my parents house. Anything will do rather than the shytstorm FFG have kicked up by not printing enough copies of their SWRPG stuff.
