RicoD 282 Posted January 31, 2017 Hi everyone. My friend and I ran into this yesterday. If a character whose dice were already in the pool is defeated, and say a Lightsaber is redeployed to another character, does the Lightsaber die stay in the pool or does it get removed? Thanks. Buhallin 4,563 Posted January 31, 2017 Back to the card. This is covered explicitly in the rules definition for Redeploy. 1 RicoD reacted to this

anthonybarnstable 29 Posted January 31, 2017 "Before an opponent's character is defeated, you may move one of their non-ability upgrades to this character." "This keyword only appears on upgrades. After the attached character is defeated, its controller may immediately move this upgrade to any of their other characters. The upgrade die moves to the new character card, even if it was in the dice pool. " If General Grievous takes a weapon that redeploys, when he is defeated, can the Grievous player redeploy that upgrade to another character (because they are the controller)? Or can the opponent redeploy that upgrade (the original owner of the card)?

From what you've quoted, it follows that if Grievous steals something with redeploy and then dies, Grievous's controller can move the redeployed upgrade to another of his or her characters. And if Grievous steals something (with or without redeploy) whose die is actively in the dice pool, that die is kept in the original controller's dice pool (because the card is still in play)? Moved to Grievous's dice pool (because the card is still in play and the controller has changed)? Or returned to the card?

I don't have any rules text to back this up, but from what I know of other rulings, the consistent thing would be to return the die to the card (because that's what happens when characters die - their dice in pool are removed).
