"What if cannot do what the card says, because this is the first time this mechanic appears in the game" The thing is that it appears you can do exactly what the card says even if you don't find a card. It was recently pointed out that there is a "may" on the card and not placing a card is a valid option. 1 RampancyTW reacted to this
Jehan Menasis 1,562 Posted February 2, 2017 Not placing a card automatically cancels the condition, so in all honesty, I doubt the intention of the 'may' portion is just to let people peek at the damage deck to check what critical effects cards are left. But there it is. The assumption may be that a card will be selected and placed but having that "may" completely solves the problems when there may not be a card in the DD to select. The times you would voluntarily activate the condition (crew use instead of pilot use) and NOT have a card to select should be rare or at least as it is used it would be recognized that the chances of it giving you everything you want are decreasing. Besides that just consider how vocal some are about making sure you draw and assign ALL of the damage cards a ship would be assigned. That despite the target being immediately destroyed with zero chance of those cards, especially when they're face down, affecting anything else just so you can see what cards are coming out of the DD as they are headed toward the discard pile. Kylo finally makes those matter while giving you perfect information about what still remains in the DD as opposed to just telling you want hasn't been revealed yet.
