Secret wish: Sith Pureblood

Most of these are EU species so the probability of their inclusion is low. But that doesn't discourage me.

So they actually revealed all the major bits that we want to know in an announcement article? What is this madness!?

Arkanians, Cosians, and Pau'ans. Not surprised at any choice, though the inclusion of Arkanian does mean they haven't exiled EU species entirely--'least, not yet (unless Arkanians got reintroduced into canon).

Arbiter, Ascetic, and Teacher. Teacher was obvious. Arbiter, if it does what I think it does, is pretty much on point. That leaves Ascetic, which I suspect might carry the conflict talent; the whole isolating themselves from the rest of the galaxy could easily cross into dark side territory.

I can guess what Imbue does, temporarily enhancing an item with the Force, and it might be our "make Force artifacts" power. Ebb/Flow is vaguely named, at best. I am surprised we're getting 2, though; I'm guessing one is 2+ Force rating.

If Much to Learn isn't the signature ability the wise old mentor uses to school the uppity punk, I will be disappointed.

Also, Mr. Smee, you might want to avoid posting anything more, so people don't spam you with hate mail and questions you're not supposed to answer.

I have 5 ranks in Discipline and Charm, not a problem....

Alright interesting 2 Force powers in one book Imbue and Ebb/Flow, any Ideas as to what they are. Oh and who else thinks that arbiter is the Tree with conflict talent?

If anything, I am predicting something from the Marshal in Edge, as that is the vision I am getting.  Plus, it doesn't help I am getting a vision of the Warhammer 40K arbiter.

As for Ebb/Flow, I am envisioning something like Chirrut "used" in Rogue One.

Arkanians are awesome, I'm just hoping that we get two versions since that what happened in the EU.

I really hope you're right. I'm tired of all of the Conflict talents being based off of fear when there are so many other angles that Conflict talents can take.

It's not the Mystic, but it's as close as I'm likely to get for a couple years, so WOOT!

You run the numbers better than I do, but with the rate FaD books have been coming out, shouldn't we be seeing the last two Career splats by the end of 2017?

It's technically possible, yes. The average number of days between announcements for F&D books is holding fairly steady at ~100 days (100.57, currently). With two career books and a third (probably Region) book, we would still have all remaining specs announced by year end.

Released is another story, and like Edge did (and Age is beginning to do), the Force books will likely begin to stretch out as we get closer to the End of the LineTM.

I find it a bit surprisng they are giving all the info in a single annuncement, when in the past they dragged the details in two or three different articles.  I wonder why they are doing this. Maybe there's going to be another annoucement in the near future so they have to cram everything in a single one?

Or they could have decided it's simply more efficient to put it all out at once.

Caveat: I have NO insight into FFG's RPG development department.

Different developers usually work on different sourcebooks. I believe that the lead developer for the sourcebook is in charge of writing the preview pages. So each dev/writer gets to choose how much information is divulged with each preview article they write.

And concussion rifles woot

I love concussion rifles SOOOO much. On the Jedi Knight II map of the Cloud City Gantry, a friend and I would run around with those and frustrate the hell out of the other players (Oh, and we killed each other plenty of times too). Catch the other player on a ledge and WA-WHOOOM hit 'em with a AOE, knocking them off. Spawn, Wawhoom, spawn, WaWaoom, spawn, WaWaoom. Mind you, this wasn't spawn point camping - it was just such a small map that you could hit anywhere from anywhere if you were good enough.

We never got the point for killing them this way, but the epic amount of rage that we were able to farm was entertaining beyond words.

I don't know about Imbue being item-based. While the term is traditionally used in conjunction with items in RPGs, it can also be used with people and intangible concepts (and arguably, we've gotten our item-focused force power in Manipulate). I think Imbue is going to be some kind of support power used to enhance an ally (or allies), aligned with the Teacher concept.

Ebb/Flow sounds like something that defensively absorbs hurt coming your way and allows you to turn it back against the enemy. Using the enemy's strength against themselves is a very Consular-y concept. Or it could be a way to create a "reversal of fortunes" ala Zayne Carrick and gain strength from terrible rolls.

This explains a lot about you and your personality. Thank you for this insight.

Naw, it's not like that at all. I were playing fairly and they got me just as much as I got them. If anything, playing that way cost me more matches than it won me. And like I said, I was only teamed with a friend by virtue that we were on the same map at the same time. He'd send me flying off just as readily as he would someone else.

(Also, 2002)

I didn't see this part:

This supplemental sourcebook includes instructions for establishing mentors and practitioners of alternative Force traditions as well as diplomatic scenarios and adventure hooks that can flesh out a campaign setting and expand it into the wider Star Wars galaxy.

Keith Kappel did that part :)

Well whoever is lead on this title does it my favourite way. Now instead of speculating on what the contents will be we can speculate about the contents we know are coming.

Ok species look great, more to choose without duplicates is good and they could be rather interesting.

Arbiter: aka Judge? Sometimes jury and executioner too? I'll agree it sounds a lot like the Marshal. Although the hints that it goes into danger suggests it will be an alternative Lightsaber user. Screaming out for an "I am the law" Conflict social talent along the lines of "you dare question my judgment?" and extracting statements from witnesses. But I'm with you Happy and hope it's nothing Fear related and instead in the next spec.

Ascetic sounds intriguing, the meditative, contemplative thinker. I really do hope there is a conflict Talent here too, something about selfishness or ignoring problems because of laziness, a "not my problem" way of recovering Strain? I could see more ranks of the useless Force Protection here, and perhaps a Healing Trance. One with the Universe should show up too.

Teacher, nice, well predicted Absol. I wonder if the FSEmergent's Invigorate will make another appearance here? Then Encouraging Words, Natural Instructor and That's How it's Done. Finally the Master Instructor talent would be incredible for a Consular, it fits the Discipline theme so well.

Imbue could go two ways, gear or people, a kind of Enhance to use on others. Either would be good.

Ebb/Flow sounds distinctly Light/Dark and I wonder if it's a way of changing how others interact with the Force. Changing the Strain cost to use either type of Force Point, even flipping Light to Dark or Dark to Light or as a Mastery preventing one side of the Force from being used entirely. That sounds powerful so possibly even FR 3+ only talent Works

Equipment sounds fun, lots of "police" gear there.

With Teacher being a spec and the talk of Mentors I wonder (hope) if this book will have rules for a PC run Force User Training Facility. Basically a base dedicated to training others and the sharing of knowledge.
