Goseki1 637 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) I was doing my first solo run to learn the setup and mechanics and wasn't 100% sure how to resolve this: I have no actions left as Roland. Does the ghoul move towards Roland as the highest (FIST) player? Or towards the parlour due to the agenda state (Forced:All unengaged ghouls move towards parlour)? I'm assuming the agenda state takes precedent? If the ghoul goes to the parlour does it attack Lita straight away or on the next Mythos phase? If I go to the parlour after it, does it remain engaged with Lita? Had to bail before I could pore through the how tobplay/RR and its going to bug me not knowing. Cheers. Noaloha 25 Posted December 22, 2016 Enemy phase goes: Start Move hunter enemies Apply enemy attacks End So the GP hunts toward Roland into the attic and auto-engages. As a result, at the end of the enemy phase (when the Agenda ability occurs) it won't move toward the Parlor since it is engaged.
MrCee 22 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) So how did you trigger Act 3 with Roland being in the attic? Edited December 22, 2016 by MrCee

Brilliant thank you So how did you trigger Act 3 with Roland being in the attic? Boom, nice one. Missed that investigators had to be in the hall which would have made this situation not occur. I'll excuse myself by saying I was clock watching as I had somewhere to be!I'm not hugely sure I've gotten Litas interactions correct either. Do I run into the room then try to pass the [Knowledge] test to get her on side? If I don't pass the test she basically does nothing? And if I've not evaded the ghoul before trying to move away it attacks me right?

Correct but also note the Ghoul will remain engaged with you when you move, so he'll be in the Parlor and have an Attack of Opportunity if you try to talk to Lita (or do anything other than Fight, Evade, or Resign). Goseki1 637 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) Cool. I'm just thinking, I want to recruit her before I defeat the ghoul. Realise this would be a lot easier if we had two players! Presumably the best tactic is to successfully evade the move? Edited December 22, 2016 by Goseki1
HansZiegler 14 Posted December 22, 2016 Evade, Move, Parley are probably your best sequence of actions.

Presumably the best tactic is to successfully evade the move? Correct. Or, with Roland, it's quite possible to defeat the Priest in 3 Actions without controlling Lita. With 5 HP (presumably you are in true solo?), you can do 3 successful hits with basically any Guardian weapon for total 6 damage; or two successful hits if you use Vicious Blow with a weapon, for a combined 3 damage per attack. Or if Roland is beefy enough, Dynamite + a Weapon attack. There's plenty of options.
rsdockery 537 Posted December 22, 2016 Talking to Lita is a Parley action, so you can do that without triggering the ghoul's attack (it will hit you when you move, though). As for recruiting Lita: Recruiting Lita during the scenario has no effect on resolution (effectively, you're just calming her down long enough to form a temporary alliance; your choices at the end determine whether she'll join you permanently). If you can kill the Ghoul Priest without her help, then do so. 1 Ardulac reacted to this

So the minimum is 1 action, using a weapon and 2 Vicious Blow for 4 damage in 1 attack, and finish it with Beat Cop's free action.
Goseki1 637 Posted December 22, 2016 Brilliant, thank you all again, I had vicious blow and Roland's .38 special and beat copper available so could have done him in a few actions. Really looking forward to giving it another shot when I can.
