Frostknife 0 Posted December 21, 2016 Looking for a good starter fleet for the Empire. So far I have the base set, gladiator, and ISD.
Sygnetix 140 Posted December 21, 2016 The problem with "good" is that it often exists in the eyes of the beholder, weighted by experiences. Perhaps some more specific parameters or information on how you play? Squadron heavy, squadron light, fighter, or bomber, fact and light, slow and heavy, etc. 1 Destraa reacted to this
modise 87 Posted December 21, 2016 http://armadawarlords.hivelabs.solutions/ I would recommend using the above link to build a list. The ISD and gladiator make a good starting list. You want to get at least 1 or 2 of the base imperial squadrons and 1 of the rogue and scoundrels pack. I would also say that 2 packs of gozantis might come in handy. I tried to copy you a list but warlords seem to be having issues. Since I have not personally used wave 5 I cannot say anything if I would recommend any of those squadrons or ships. On paper some of the stuff look awesome.

I'm not a huge fan of tons of squadrons or I'd be playing x-wing. I was thinking maybe ISD, gladiator and then a raider or gozanti plus some fighters. I really like the way the raiders look but it seems everyone's using the gozanti cruisers instead. Sygnetix 140 Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) I stacked Escort fighters to guard the squadron killing wing. Logic here is intercept their fighters/bombers with your squadrons to lock them down and start destroying them. With Screed and APTs, the Raider can dart in and eliminate their flotillas and deny them squadron flexibility and activations. If the Raider can kill 2 flotillas, it paid for itself. If they don't have any, it's setup to hunt named squadrons. Worse case is they have a HUGE amount of bombers and the Raider has to join the anti-squadron wing enroute to their florillas. Drive the Carrier ISD into them and use it to manage your bomber squadrons. Use Screed to crit a blue dice so the Ion effect triggers, then use demolisher to focus the same target. Went boosted comms incase the squadron fights occurs away from their ships or you end up plowing through it so your squadron commands don't end up out of range but you could drop it for a 4 point hail mary buy. Alternatively, you can drop to speed 1 and plink at medium range, commanding your bombers from afar and still using Screed to blue crit your opponents defense tokens into exhaustion. Use IG-88 to kill the intel ship(s) followed by heavies with Grit (if engaging solo), otherwise target squadrons with Counter..
