Deleriad 3 Posted December 17, 2016 Hi there. I'm trying to figure out what happens when you use a blast result against a large or massive figure. I *think* from the rules that when you attack a large/massive figure you target a space occupied by that figure and therefore the blast affects all figures adjacent to the space (except for the large/massive figure itself.) However there's an argument here that it would affect all figures adjacent to the targeted FIGURE (not just one space within it). The rules reference seems to implicitly support my interpretation but I can't find an explicit reference to only targeting a single space within the large/massive figure. a1bert 4,115 Posted December 17, 2016 (edited) Attacks always target a space. Blast affects figures and objects (other than the target) on and adjacent to the targeted space. It is explicit in the Blast rules / reference card and Large Figure rules. (Also 'on' the targeted space - even when it is not mentioned for Blast - because objects and figures on the same space are adjacent for the purposes of Blast and Cleave.) · If the target is a large figure, Blast only affects figures adjacent to the targeted space and does not affect the target figure. · When a large figure attacks, line of sight may be traced from any of the spaces it occupies. When a large figure is targeted by an attack, the figure performing the attack must target one of the spaces the large figure occupies. Edit: Although currently all Massive figures are also Large, massive and Blast do not affect each other. Massive only affects line of sight during attacks. Note that Protector, Sentinel, and Keep the Peace also care about the targeted space, not the targeted figure. neosmagus 623 Posted December 17, 2016 If a figure is only massive and not large, how would blast change? Wouldn't make a difference. Massive and blast don't affect each other. If the figure uses more than one space, it is large. Massive is a rule that affects line of sight and movement (and whether it can go indoors), and is a trait more akin to mobile than anything to do with small/large. So a figure that isn't large would be small and blast would be like any small figure, regardless if it is massive or not.
