The Colonel's Pronounciation

Recommended Posts

I'm so sorry to do this, but the title has one of my pet peeves.

The word is spelled "pronunciation".  The "nun" is also pronounced as "nun" and not as "noun" - different pronunciation to the route word.

Pet peeve of mine. Grammar Nazis pointing out my spelling mistake, but then misspell their own word in the next sentence. Route=root. Lol

Then again Queens English can be odd.  I've never understood why 'derby' is pronounced 'darby' or 'hertfordshire' is 'hartfordshire'.

Because you simplified the spelling and thereby made it harder on yourself. Heoroford and Deoraby about a 1000 years ago.
