Either Intel agent or Kallus.  With Intel Agent and Deltas, you can barrel roll the deltas for bumps (great against all that may go after whisper).  If you are already Miss Cleo, then Agent Kallus and go with the 99 points.  

 

I've found recon spec works really well on Lone Wolf Echo.  Not many people run 2 aces higher than Whisper/VI.  She's most likely going to get the focus anyway.

I'm not saying Kallus is bad, I'm just saying that from personal experience the Rec. Spec's total of three focus after Whisper hits has been more versatile than Kallus' single target; and I value that versatility in a tournament setting.

I'm arguing precisely that Kallus provides more versatility in tournament settings. That double focus comes at the expense of an evade, and against tlt Kallus gives you two focus opportunities anyway (not as good but significant).

 

So recon shades it against tlt spam, but it does nothing against dengaroo or imp aces or Rey or Poe. If I were playing a single match and I knew tlt spam or tie swarm were my opponents, I'd probably prefer recon. In literally every other matchup I'd prefer Kallus.

I don't expect to see quad TLT. Quite possibly two with a large base ship though.

 

I need to carefully choose who will get the Kallus effect.

Whisper is fine against 2 TLTs. I mean, don't be a fool and ignore them -- pop 'em quick-like.     

I took Whisper to last year's regional, first match was against quad TLTs. I lost, but only on the last possible die roll, where my opponent managed to finally tag OL for her last hull point. Otherwise, Whisper had done a lot of work prior to dismantle the TLTs.

In a list with two Defenders... It won't be easy, but its possible. Regardless, I'd want Kallus over Rec Spec, because you really want something that will be effective against your OTHER weaknesses, not just the TLTs. I had Gunner, which didn't trigger at all in the quad TLT match.

I'm liking Kallus and a 99pt bid. As noted, there's not a whole lot out there that will be running 99pts *and* a PS9 pilot, so the points may as well be spent. And Kallus is fantastic on Whisper in letting her token stack, and even bank actions.

 

Better yet of all, it's some small proofing against hostile bumps, stress, etc.

 

Just make sure that you're willing and able to burn the enemies down real quick with that escort!

Run a crew and dont care too much about thr bid. My suggestion is to learn how to win with either initiative case
