Maybe I'm behind the times here. Started playing the other day .. fun little game. Then I saw the price of character packs. $38.99 - $159.99 AUD!!! Are you ****ing serious!? $159 for 2 characters!!!

 

That's half of an Xbox. That's 2 brand new Xbox games with change - not expansions .. whole games! I can get the Tantive, or a Raider ... heck, wait for an MM sale and I can get both!

 

Anyway, was a bit of a shock. I'd be happy to make a few <$10 transactions but those prices are ridiculous. Who buys these?

Yeah the freemium model can be highly abusive, I certainly wouldn't that kind of money on a mobile app.

Yeah, the price of character packs is kind of insane.

 

I am kind of happy where I am. Haven't spent a cent, but have built up a decent roster. Guild is very casual, so I am sort of hitting a plateau in character progression. 

 

And best thing about the ships release, is that you can get Vader, Maul, and Grievious shards in it.

Did the work experience kid at EA put the decimal point in the wrong place maybe? 

 

I bought a $7 character pack that magically popped up and got Darth Sidious and 500 crystals. He was a 1 in 3 chance with 2 other known characters. Then bought a card pack with the 2,500 crystals I had and scored Maul. 2 decent characters for $7 .. far from the $160 ask. 

 

Jonesing for Biggs though .. his synergies with Wedge are delicious.

I used to play, but it eventually got boring. I had 7 star IG-88, and a bunch other good stuff. I didn't buy anything, the key is patience and doing as many daily challenges as you can.

i've bought a few crystals to get a bit better but simming for character shards is a good way forward!

I have it but haven't played it in quite awhile.

It can be fun and addictive at times. But if your guys aren't advancing fast or you go through all the freebies quick it can get dull.

Loved how the characters spanned all the movies and shows. Should try it again to see who is new. I'm guessing rogue one characters will be added soon if they aren't already.

The game is ok for as long as you are unlocking new stages and are below max level.

I did spent a few $$$ on the game to level up faster and stay competitive, but once you hit the max level though you are basically left with 2 options.

a) spend shitloads of money to have competitive squads for the arena in order to get meaningful rewards

b) slowly lose ranks in the arena and take triple or quadruple time to upgrade your toons.

 

I deleted the game recently after hitting max (85) level and having something like 20 maxed characters.

I simply did not want to spend money just to collect premium characters for a smartphone game.

If anybody is playing or new. I read that the 350 shard Chromium card has a guaranteed farmable light side character on the first purchase. I'm lvl 42, bought my first one and BAM! Qui Gon.

Fremium model pay2win mobile games? I avoid them like the Plague. I used to play hearthstone until they decided to split the format trying to make it like Magic the Gathering on a phone.

Normally I do as well. This one is SW and am at lvl 45 without having to spend real world $. I'm enjoying it thus far. Can see it will get grindy in the end game.

My top 12 have 8 rebels, 1 separatist then vader, tarkin and royal guard lol.

I have played with the weaker version of Wedge/Biggs combo. Nasty. I am currently trying to rush him to 6 star for the Palpatine fight. The Fleet shipments really help.

I've been playing for about 2 weeks and I'm already at level 48 without spending any $$. I spend all of my crystals on energy refreshes so that I can sim all the hard battles/cantina battles and collect XP and character shards pretty fast. I never buy the packs with my crystals because it seems faster to just focus on farming the characters I want in the cantina/squad arena/galactic war shipments instead. Haven't explored much of the guilds yet though unfortunately, since I started my own and it doesn't have any other members yet. I've still been having a lot of fun without the guilds though and I'm hoping it doesn't take too much longer to unlock ships because I've almost got enough shards to unlock Vader and I really want to play with him and his x1!

Guilds are great as you can enter raids and get some nice stuff (and loads of credits from them) plus they help you with gear to sort out your gear levels.

 

Vaders X1 is only available through events (ive seen 2 in play so far) but some of the others are great. I'm currently hovering within the top 20 on fleet battles. you cant really farm the ships shards though, you can buy them with Galactic war redemption's and fleet shard shop.

I do love how I jumped 300 places in arena once I unlocked Palpatine in Arena. 

 

Also love how Vader can be in Fleet Shipments. Half way to 7 star now.

once i got Wedge and my damage output spiked i jumped like 300 places in arena battles! 

 

i might take biggs, wedge, Ashoka, Ackbar and a tank (currently Chewie but maybe scariff pathfinder) 

 

my current team is Biggs, Wedge, Chewie, Ashoka and Jedi Consular (farming Luminara at the moment to replace Jedi cons and scariff pathfinder to replace Chewie)

I could use some more allies to speed up my achievements and therefor unlock Vader faster. What are all of your ally codes?

I've been hovering around rank 1100 in my arena, which I suppose isnt bad considering I'm only level 48 and have only been playing for 2ish weeks. I've been having a lot of fun with Akbar as lead and support healer, Luminara as main healer, Qui Gon to get rid of enemy taunts and Royal Guard + Hoth Rebel Soldier (almost have stormtrooper Han) as my tanks.

if you're not in a guild then check out force sensitive fathers. i don't have my ally code to hand at present though.

 

Guilds are great as the raids give you nice loot and you can request gear materials as well.
