Icon skill on cards

Recommended Posts

So example :

I wanna play my little doggy and I saw the icon skill of power. Does it mean I have to perform a power skill test before playing and paying the card ?

No, it means you can discard it from hand when making skill checks to give a bonus to that skill check for each icon of that skill it has.

i totally missed that point ! is it in rules ?

Thx !

Rules Reference guide pg. 26 under Skill test timing ST.2 commit cards from hand to skill test

I thought it was only for skill cards !

You might want to go over the rules again, as this is a major component of the cards and has a huge effect on gameplay.

if you look at the section i previously referenced it says "the investigator performing the skill test may commit any number of cards with an appropriate skill icon from his/her hand to this test"  therefore if I have a card in hand that has a matching skill icon I can commit it to this test to gain its corresponding bonus to my skill check

Skill cards are just special examples of cards to be committed to a skill test that often also have an additional ability that can be resolved (such as drawing a card with Guts), but any card may be committed as long as the symbols match.
