Admiral Deathrain 5,232 Posted November 13, 2016 Finally GW rereleases my favourite game of theirs! At a reasonable price, even. For now only with 3 teams, though (although with rules for 6 more already). I am hyped to build an orc team! Any thoughts? 1 skotothalamos reacted to this
Dagonet 7,246 Posted November 13, 2016 Yes, for instance that the box only contains Orcs and Humans, so two teams, not three , with Skaven and Dwarves announced.
alexbobspoons 551 Posted November 13, 2016 So even though the core set has Orcs, you need to buy the expansion book for Varag Ghoul Chewer an Orc star player.... so will this mean a person has to buy every expansion just for their own teams scattering of star players I wonder?? Also, my collected team is Undead.. which isnt around yet it seems. However it was suggested the rules would be the same as the Living Rules 6.0 so in that case would we already have the expansion stuff and other teams, or have they changed/tweaked the rules? A comparison would be good to see.
Admiral Deathrain 5,232 Posted November 13, 2016 Yes, for instance that the box only contains Orcs and Humans, so two teams, not three , with Skaven and Dwarves announced. They announced what you can buy on release date. The starter box with humans and orcs and a standalone skaven team. None of the other, yet, although rumors place dwarves to be part of the next wave of non-starter teams.
Dagonet 7,246 Posted November 13, 2016 The Dwarves were already previewed at Essen, if memory serves.
Hobojebus 11,341 Posted November 13, 2016 Yeah and you need to buy two sets to field a full team, typical GW BS.
Admiral Deathrain 5,232 Posted November 13, 2016 Oh thats cool to know they already have the models close to production, makes me hope the other teams will be availiable soon, too. Only having Humans, Orcs and Skaven is a bit dull. I mean, have you ever seen someone play humans willingly? Makes me a wary that our league in January will be 80% Orcs...although Skaven certainly can be fun, too! I also hope there will be supplement packs for the starter box teams, soon, I won't buy two boxes just to have 2 more Blitzers and Black Orcs.
Iceeagle85 495 Posted November 13, 2016 I haven't preorderd but i will surely buy this some time, and then perhaps the Skaven or if they release them a Vampire or Chaos team, i do hope they also rerelease Dungeon Bowl.
Hobojebus 11,341 Posted November 13, 2016 Why? The rules haven't changed you can get pitches and teams from dozens of other places. 1 alexbobspoons reacted to this
Iceeagle85 495 Posted November 13, 2016 Why? The rules haven't changed you can get pitches and teams from dozens of other places. Well i like the look of the new miniatures and the gaming aids thats why, i also like that every team has it's own thematic ball,
Velvetelvis 3,739 Posted November 13, 2016 New game looks good.real good. But, its missing the end zone decorations with the funny team names.

(If so, how do they expect to sell that expansion book??) Its great if true, though I expected some tweaks to assist sale-ability once the thing was out.. That could change when they get to the less usable teams like Khemri, though! Do download the CPR rulebook while GW didn't take it down anyways. The reason to buy this rerelease is simple: This new mainstream distributed material makes it a lot easier to find a community. My LGS that has stores in two cities launches a league in January for both stores. Final playoffs will bring both cities together, its just amazing. I want that support to continue for as long as possible, so I'll buy my stuff from that store. 1 alexbobspoons reacted to this

The expansion book has the rules for league play (and associated things like wounds and experience), 7 more teams and some Star Players. 1 alexbobspoons reacted to this

Iceeagle85 495 Posted November 14, 2016 (edited) Just looked up some of the pictures from Essen: That Troll-Slayer miniature is glorious! I would name them Gotrek and Snorri Edited November 14, 2016 by Iceeagle85 2 Admiral Deathrain and heychadwick reacted to this
heychadwick 11,357 Posted November 14, 2016 I still play one of the non-current pc versions of the game for fun every now and again. I think my favorite team was that my friend painted up an Undead team where all the zombies looked like American Civil War soldiers. He mixed them all with blue and grey uniforms and gave them historic names. It was hysterical. 2 Admiral Deathrain and Flyingbrick reacted to this
Richard_Thomas_ 326 Posted November 14, 2016 Just been for a look in my local Games Workshop (or Warhammer as it's now called) Store. It's very very nice. Pre-order made.
Budgernaut 6,255 Posted November 16, 2016 Yeah and you need to buy two sets to field a full team, typical GW BS. Wow. You need two boxes to run the recommended amount of units? Sounds a lot like another game company's miniatures games ... 1 Admiral Deathrain reacted to this
Vineheart01 6,403 Posted November 16, 2016 You mean sounds like any miniature game. 2 boxes is pretty minimal actually. Rather shocking for GW since to play a standard 1500pt 40k game is something like 10 boxes of crap depending on how big your toys are in those boxes (Orks would be 15 boxes). Not sure if im going to get into bloodbowl. Skaven rat puns might draw me into it though lol. I know a little bit about how the races worked in the old one and i really wasnt a fan of the ork playstyle, despite my profile pic making you think otherwise lol. Love my greenskins but i'd rather have numbers not hulking brutes.
Admiral Deathrain 5,232 Posted November 23, 2016 It is finaly here! I am still contemplating my orc colourscheme. Green skin is set, but the armour isn't quite clear, yet. I though black with yellow details, but maybe that isn't the best. I definitly won't use the suggested colourscheme even though it does look good, just because I want to avoid mirrors. White would certainly be unique, but I wouldn't know a good secondary colour. Maybe red?
Hobojebus 11,341 Posted November 23, 2016 Red uns go fasta!
Admiral Deathrain 5,232 Posted November 23, 2016 Red uns go fasta! Going fast is for cowards who want to run away, we need more punching!
Vineheart01 6,403 Posted November 23, 2016 Ive always been a fan of bright yellow/orange on orks. I dont know why but every 40k ork ive painted with that scheme looked awesome but when i just do red it looks kinda plain and uninteresting. My metal Ghazzy model is red, and if it wasnt for the base hes on i'd probably strip it because it looks so flat to me now (one of the first models i painted). Flipside, Zagstruk is one of the last ork models i painted. With Bad Moonz yellow and WOW hes awesome lookin lol. i know this isnt the right universe as Blood Bowl is more fantasy than 40k, but dont care green skins are still orks lol 1 Admiral Deathrain reacted to this
Iceeagle85 495 Posted November 23, 2016 Only true ork colours are the yellow/black of the Bad Moons or the blue/white of the Deathskulls
