Looks like the SF thread got nuked.

Forget the SF, when are we going to see a fix for the TIE Phantom?

It's only got one pilot worth a **** and it comes with VI and ACD glued to it!

Talk about stale!

I disagree on all counts. The TIE phantom used to be a forgiving extreme damage agility tank with the most powerful small ship primary attack in the game and the most powerful reactive repositioning ability in the game. The change removed the reactive and therefore the forgiving. A ship that had been the demon of the metagame for a very long time and therefore a ship who's counters were throughly understood became a skill-dependent ship overnight and as a result almost entirely died out for a wave or two: Soontir Fel filled the same niche after Wave 6 powered him up and everyone was bored of the TIE phantom.

But it's never been a bad ship. The higher PS TIE phantoms almost always take ACD because it's much more powerful than SPA and they take VI because VI makes ACD more powerful. It's like PTL on a TIE interceptor: the other options aren't bad relative to the rest of the game but they're not as good as PTL.

There were plenty of TIE phantom builds in Wave 4, you just always saw Whisper VI ACD because she was the best one. The other builds haven't really been explored.

Well, this looked very promising in the box so-to-speak, but it seems they're better tech for 'em. I haven't purchased yet.....but dang it, I don't want another Falcon or another Poe......errrrrr!

Tell me about it! I already had 2 falcons and 2 Poes before I got Heroes! I do kinda want a second box, but I... Nope. I really should not.

you really don't need Hotr tech. they're nice to have, but the SF runs fine as is and honestly can benefit from being cheaper (since it's pretty fragile, relatively speaking)

He is completely right here, I have had great success just keeping him cheap,

Backdraft, vi, fcs, title

Ryad, ptl,title,mk2

Vessary crackshot title

Lots of fun, this build jousts like a champ, keep Backdraft a little behind the defenders, fist engagement is usually bloody for one ship, the defender k turn and Backdraft banks and it's usually death for one of their ships by that time, I love it because people tent to want to kill a defender first, then Backdraft happily shows them their targeting mistake. But if they are smart and go after him, well he is the cheapest ship in the list so oh well. It's been really fun

It's hard to judge if 4 of those is the right build but I like your idea, just bring a bunch of clouds, it's one of those things though that you probably just want to not think about the combo until it naturally can happen in the current state of that game, great idea though

Okay, hear me out on this:

Omega Specialist 25

Collision Detector 0

Title 0

Trick Shot 0

X4

Trick Shot is a card that is better the more copies you have of it, and collision detectors let's you activate it more frequently.

If I understand this, you're either modifying your 3 dice shots, or getting a 4th die fairly frequently? I say this, because I can see using all that lovely red to get behind obstacles and taking shots at unsuspecting folks...

I mean, the ideal is that you're getting modified 4-dice shots, but that's probably not practical to hope for. What you're probably doing is firing first with unobstructed ships to try and strip Focus so your obstructed ships get more advantage from the +1 die for both sides.

You probably don't plan on sacrificing an action to activate Trick Shot, but it's an option. If you dropped one Omega to Zeta Ace, you could get your remaining 3 Omega with FCS instead.

And stolen.

Both those lists looks like good fun.

How'd they test thus far?

I haven't flown mine a ton yet.  I did beat dual IG88s yesterday with it, so that's something.  I also won against a Dengaroo list, but the other person had never used Dengaroo before and was just playing it so I could have a chance to see how the bombers did against it...and those are the only 2 games against other people so far.

I am really loving Backdraft at the moment. I haven't settled on a build for him yet. FCS seems the best way so far for the sensor slot, I tried with a Sensor Jammer once and usually run Sensor Cluster tech to try to tank him up a bit, but did not really like the result. I seem to be barrel rolling with him almost every turn, which means no Focus often when not running PtL, so next time I run him I am going to try Wired, FCS, and Primed Thrusters.

I was never really able to leverage his sloops and 1 hard due to being red and needing to BR, or lacking attack/defense mods. This build should take care of that, with Wired making up a bit of defense after the loss from not having Sensor Cluster.

"Backdraft" (27)
Wired (1)
Fire-Control System (2)
Primed Thrusters (1)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1) (optional)
Special Ops Training (0)

Total: 32
