CubsFanSean23 17 Posted October 19, 2016 What do people think of this build against aces or dengaroo..... https://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Scum%20and%20Villainy&d=v4!s!219:18,178,108,128:-1:3:;115:-1,194:-1:-1:;115:-1,194:-1:-1:;123:135,-1,-1,-1:-1:-1:&sn=Unnamed%20Squadron

cybu 187 Posted October 21, 2016 Gyroscoping Targeting is a must, you can even use it if you bump. And I think your Asajj build is too fragile. I've had good success with this build: Asajj Ventress (37) Fearlessness (1) Latts Razzi (2) Gyroscopic Targeting (2) IMHI Latts Razzi is the best card of wave 9. She has saved me so much damage! 1 Hos reacted to this
Stu35 723 Posted October 21, 2016 I've been struggling for Shadowcaster builds myself. Been playing with Asaaj, Tactician, Shadowcaster and Gyro as a base, but the Caster is a very flimsy ship for the price* *it's probably not, we've just been spoiled by jumpmasters for so long that reasonable pricing has gone out the window. As mentioned above, Latts is probably the way to go on Asaaj for defence. I'm also contemplating Sabine pilot to see how tanky i can make a caster. asters89 280 Posted October 21, 2016 I've played Asajj with 2 y's quite a few times taking gyro over EU and haven't missed having engine at all. When your support ships are so slow, you probably won't be boosting much anyway. My build is normally Asajj Ventress (37)Push the Limit (3)K4 Security Droid (3) [Dengar works slightly differently, but just as well so its a toss up here]Gyroscopic Targeting (2)Shadow Caster (3) Total: 48 I haven't found the shadow caster to be particularly fragile, when you have rerolls from K-4 and gyro moving your arc, you can normally free up your actions for focus+evade with PTL. Then clear that stress on a green to reacquire a TL - rinse and repeat.
CubsFanSean23 17 Posted October 21, 2016 I should mention I built this as a complement to a palp defenders build I have for a hangar bay tourney......it is fragile, the goal was to have a list that dealt with aces/arc dodgers and made them not wanna take stress hence weakening them. Hence I like latts, but she rejoices stress, tactician deals it. I do appreciate all the advice, I really wasn't a way to make asajj a competitive build, she's great to fly! R4B2 222 Posted October 21, 2016 I think if you are using ptl as your ept then k4 makes more sense than dengar crew. otherwise this list has a shot against dengar/aces. the bmst are a good stress deterrent and assaj's native ability will create a large no fly zone for aces who rely on ptl. nigeltastic 3,808 Posted October 21, 2016 I like push, engine, dengar, stim, slicer as my build for Asajj. I haven't found the ship fragile unless I really mess up flying it, it's so fast it's hard to get focused enough to die quickly. I was running k4 instead of dengar but dengar gives you a bit more flexibility in your targeting and it's as good as k4 on average rolls.
admat 486 Posted October 21, 2016 I've thought of the following a while back: Asajj Ventress (Push the Limit, Ketsu Onyo, Rigged Cargo Chute, Shadow Caster, title, Gyroscopic Targeting) Dengar (Predator, Recon Specialist, Unhinged Astromech, Punishing One title) 99 points Even though Asajj attacks after Dengar, if she assigns a Tractor Beam token to her target it could help Dengar's return shot, if any (no attacks vs Dengar is good too!), against that target and Ketsu can make the ship fragile for the next round. This one should be more durable though: Asajj (Push the Limit, Latts Razzi, Rigged Cargo Chute, Black Market Slicer Tools, Gyroscopic Targeting) Dengar (Predator, Recon Specialist, Unhinged Astromech, Glitterstim, Punishing One title) 100 points
Droidlover 203 Posted October 24, 2016 I've flown this over nine times in the last two weeks, and have only lost once (due to my forgetting upgrade triggers). It's great at dealing out stress and turning that stress into damage. 100pts Assaj Ventress 48pts Push the limit, Tactician, Black Market Slicer Tools, Shadow Caster, Gyroscopic Targeting 4-LOM 36pts Push the limit, Tactician, Black Market Slicer Tools, Fire control System, Mist Hunter, Tractor Beam Binayre Pilot 16pts Black Market Slicer tools, Hull upgrade
FatherTurin 1,818 Posted October 24, 2016 Asajj PtL, Latts, Glitterstim, Title, Gyroscope Syndicate Thug x2 TLT, Unhinged (I plan on adding BMST to Asajj, the one point bid is almost pointless) Took out a Vader/Ryad/Bomber list and would have knocked out a wedge/chewie list if my dice hadn't gotten ice cold after I annihliated Wedge. The best was when I blocked Vader with a thug, Vader had no shot on Asajj, and I tagged him and tractored him away from my Y-Wing and then shot him in the face with said Y-Wing. My post mortem on the list is that it is a lot of fun, but more unpredictable aces could be difficult. The gyroscope can telegraph your moves, and since an ace like soontir moves after you, it can be a crapshoot to keep in your mobile arc. Traditional blocking with the Ys requires some rethinking as well, because the Lancer MOVES. While I miss EU on a big ship, it was never strictly necessary, but get used to feeling like you are going almost uncontrollably fast to get the free arc rotation.
