Kerwyn 0 Posted October 15, 2016 Hello all, I've been lurking these forums for a few months, and enjoying all the discussion from afar, but my current group of Outcast-Ninja-Space-Wizards from the Past-But-Also-Future have been having an ongoing discussion about some of the language regarding falling damage. Now the basics of it we can all agree on, eyeball the range, consult the chart, follow directions. But discussion came up over two points in particular, and after I could not find anyone else having asked the same question, I thought I'd throw it out there and see what the community had to say. On that note, if my search skills have failed me, and these questions have been answered elsewhere, then you have my deepest apologies, but on to the meat of this post. Question one is the more complicated, I believe. The rule in question is when a Character suffers a fall from long or extreme range, the damage as written is simply "Incapacitated," and I am seeking some clarification as to what that means. Currently the only definition I can find for the term is that a character who's wounds/strain exceed their respective threshold becomes incapacitated. By this definition, I can only assume that means that a character takes enough wounds to be put one over their Wound Threshold. This is not sitting well with some in my group, as it means that, mechanically, a character of my group's average (Around 15) will actually take considerably less damage from a fall of long range, than one who falls medium range (which deals 30 damage). This all of course assumes they survive the critical injury, but that actually leads into my second, less complicated question. Question two is a simple one, When a character falls long or extreme range, is the critical injury sustained by the fall in addition to the one taken automatically by becoming incapacitated, or instead of it? Richardbuxton 7,319 Posted October 15, 2016 1. The rules say to stop counting wounds once your double your threshold, that would be a reasonable place to take a character to after a Long or Extreme fall. It will make healing a lot harder too, since a single Stim won't get them up. 2. It's In addition I believe, with the usual +10 to the second for already suffering from a crit (assuming no other crits)
