Rogue Dakotan 5,213 Posted October 14, 2016 I saw in today's article that the Rey starter comes with two copies of Rey's dice. Do all other characters that can be elite only come with one die? Meaning I'd need to get two copies of those characters just so I can get the extra die if I want them to be elite?
netherspirit1982 220 Posted October 14, 2016 (edited) Finn only comes with one in the starter. Edited October 14, 2016 by netherspirit
Aahzmandius_Karrde 398 Posted October 14, 2016 A booster only comes with one die regardless of what the card that goes with that die is. So yes you need to hit 2 different copies of a character in a booster to be able to play that character elite.
ScottieATF 2,867 Posted October 14, 2016 (edited) Just like you'd need two copies of any upgrade, support, or event in order to play the maximum amount in any deck you'll need to get your hands on the second copy of any character to use their Elite version, save for Kylo and Rey. Tromsicle 71 Posted October 14, 2016 This is pretty standard, and to be expected. Only having to collect two of a card is way better than the 4 typically required in other games. 1 Murth reacted to this

Especially if the 1 in 6 odds of obtaining a Legendary in the rare spot is accurate. 1 Murth reacted to this
TylerTT 1,295 Posted October 15, 2016 Does it make any sense to buy two of each starter?
Harmonica 39 Posted October 15, 2016 (edited) Does it make any sense to buy two of each starter? If you want a full set with 2 of each card it does. If you are okay not having that, then 1 of each should be fine. However with only one of each, you will be missing the second Finn, Mind Probe and Force Throw. Bolder 1 Posted October 25, 2016 Just like you'd need two copies of any upgrade, support, or event in order to play the maximum amount in any deck you'll need to get your hands on the second copy of any character to use their Elite version, save for Kylo and Rey. The main problem I have with this is the 2nd copy of any unique character is almost useless. I guess you could create another deck with the other copy, but the 2 decks would still be "sharing" the dice if say both decks wanted to run the elite version. Seems like there will be a lot of cards floating around at low prices and dice will be the actual rare piece in this equation. 1 SaltyPete reacted to this
john_nld 34 Posted October 25, 2016 (edited) In order to sell the card you need a die otherwise the card is useless anyway. any card that has a die connected to it does not have value the die however does. If the card has no die then the card has a price. But what happened to trading 1 for 1 quite clear to me since they announced the game. Nobody is going to be selling cards separate from the corresponding dice. There is next to no reason for anyone to buy such a thing and there is no incentive to sell in that fashion as it stricky ruins the trade/resale value. 1 Harmonica reacted to this

You have to remember that people looking to purchase say a Han Solo may be buying their first copy of that character. You aren't going to see cards or dice sold separately except as scams. 1 Harmonica reacted to this

You are correct, if by this you mean all the dang time. Every minute is born a sucker and a scammer. Maybe that is just me being jaded at human nature, but especially in the early go of the game I am pretty confident a lot of folks are going to say, "Hey, this guy on ebay is selling the Millenium Falcon for $5 less than this guy. Great deal!" Only to find out that it lacks the dice and is useless.
Hawkman2000 352 Posted October 26, 2016 As a trading card collector and since Topps isn't jumping back into their Galaxy Series anytime soon, the extra cards I get will go towards just an art/trading card collection. I don't see it as a huge loss.
