Two Defenders and..

I've recently switched from playing purely Rebels to having fun with Imperials and really enjoy the Defenders with the new upgrades.

 

I just have the two so no 3-Defender lists for me, and don't have Palpy for my shuttle. 

 

I've run two Defenders with Inky and liked it, but not sure which of these two alternatives would work best:

 

Inquisitor - PTL, Autothrusters, TIE/v1                          

Countess - Juke, Stealth Device, TIE/x7                                

Delta Sqn - Stealth Device, TIE/x7                                         

99pts.  Really like using Stealth Device, and the PS1 Delta gives me better blocking options.

 

or 

Inquisitor - PTL, Autothrusters, TIE/v1

Countess - Adaptability, Twin Ion Engine MkII, TIE/x7

Glaive Sqn - Juke, Twin Ion Engine MkII, TIE/x7

99pts.  Higher PS for the Defenders, and having Ryad and Glaive on equal PS helps me avoid those embarrassing self-blocking mistakes. But I lose the 4 green from SD.  And I do like the durability.

 

Or alternately, although I haven't tried it to know how it would fly I do kind of like the look of this - an ace, with two solid backups who can deal damage, are durable, and can block:

Cloak and Daggers

Whisper - VI, Advanced Cloaking Device

Delta Sqn - Stealth Device, TIE/x7

Delta Sqn - Stealth Device, TIE/x7

How about something like this:

 

Countess - PTL, Twin Ion Engine MkII, TIE/x7                                

Vessery - VI, Stealth Device, TIE/x7

Omega Leader - Juke, Comms Relay

It uses the stealth device you like for Vessery, you have two PS 8 ships and Omega Leader compliments Vessery ability.

But maybe think about prockets on Inquisitor instead of stealth on the Delta. If people want to shoot at the Delta instead of Ryad or Inquisitor, then let them. Inquisitor can drop half a scout with his prockets.

Just switched to Imp myself (still pretty new overall as well), like you went straight for defenders and love em. Also have Inquisitor and Phantom but no Palp (no Soonir either)

Man Ryad/Twin Ion/x7 is such a good ship. One combo I've tried a few times is:

 

Inq,v1,Autothrusters

Ryad,PTL,Twin Ion,x7

Vessery, VI, x7

 

The idea is that having Vessery at 8 increases the synergy between him and Inq (allowing him to shoot first while Inq more likely still has a TL)

The PS has been good but unfortunately just have not been getting enough mileage out of Vessery's ability.

Next I am going to try one similar to your C&D list:

 

Whisper, VI, FCS, ACD

Ryad x7,PTL,Twin Ion

Delta x7

 

That being said, your version looks very interesting as well.

The Deltas are huge pains in the ass and withe evade tokens already making them tough to take down, I feel the extra points are better spent on making Whisper the best she can be.

Local guy has been flying this and it's a solid list.

I've only just got Vets and also only have the two Defenders. I'm toying with PtL Ryad, Juke Vessery and a Doomshuttle as an option, largely as the Doomshuttle is somehow something I've never flown!

I've been flying a version of this list. I started off with Sensor Jammer and Rebel Captive on Whisper (100pts). Although it was as tanky as anything (had an enemy ship decline to shoot R1 at Whisper in one game) but i didn't like the damage output, so I swapped SJ over to FCS (98pts). Much more offensive with a disincentive to shoot at Whisper and an initiative bid too.

I've been running the following with great success.

97pts

Vessery, adaptability, X7

Ryad, PTL, X7, Ion engine MK2

Delta, X7

I use adaptability to make Vessery and Ryad the same pilot skill. It gives you movement options, and allows Vessery to use Ryad's target lock. If the three point initiative bid is screaming at you, throw twin ion engine mk2 on the other defenders as well.
