Ackbar and his extra dice

Recommended Posts

Hi, apologies if this has been asked before but couldn't spot it anywhere.....Ackbars ability to add 2 red dice, can that be used once by each friendly ship each turn or can it be applied to both attacks from each ship?

If all attacks from all rebel ships get this ability then 10 flotillas  getting 40 extra red dice per turn (providing in side arcs and in blue dice range) seems crazy at under 300 points.

It applies to every ship, if they are only using their Broadside.

But, It comes with Caveats:

1)  You must have dice in your pool to start with, as it adds to the Pool.  If there are no dice in the pool, the Attack is canceleld before you can use Ackbar.

This stops Flotillas from using it.  (They ahve no battery dice in their broadsides)

This also stops Corvettes from using it at long range, if their Target is Obstructed.

2) You must declare Ackbar at the appropriate time.  This time is not when you're making an attack, you need to declare Ackbar before that.

3) If you Declare Ackbar, and then decide not to use him, too bad.

4) You can use Ackbar out of the single Broadside 'side' if you are using Gunnery Team.

Ok, but as ships can attack twice can they use his ability twice every round? Guess u can tell I play imperials :-)

Yep.  Once out the Left Broadside, Once out the Right Broadside.

Or, if they have Gunnery Teams

Twice out the same Broadside, but at 2 Different Targets.
