Wayward Stars - Group A

Recommended Posts

Seething from both rage and pain, the injured Devaronian arms dealer makes it to the ship, slamming the control pad to open the ramp before scrambling onto it. Firing his blaster wildly back out into the docking bay, Chak yells to someone, or something on the vessel. "Cease firing the gun, you couldn't hit the broad side of a bantha if you were riding it! And make ready to take off, immediately!

A blaster bolt sizzles directly into the exposed neck joint of a Stormtrooper's armor, at the exact moment he ducks his head out to check on the surroundings. Luck is not with that particular Imperial today. He falls, clutching at the wound fitfully before finally expiring.

Chak uses one maneuver to arrive at the ship, and a second to board it, taking two strain

During this time he uses one action fires back at the Stormtroopers, his rush to get aboard hampering his aim somewhat

Firing Hold out Blaster at the Stormtroopers: 3eP+2eD+1eS 5 successes, 3 threat, 1 Triumph
p-tr.pngp-s-s.pngp-s-s.pngd-th.pngd-th.pngs-th.png

Poor GC, he was hit, damaged and Crit - Chak kills one Stormtrooper outright
The three threat will be used on Chak to result in his ammo running dry

We have only one left in the Docking Bay now

PC slot next!

Destiny Pool: 3 Light Side / 5 Dark Side

Oh! Also happy 200th post! Everyone gains 5xp!

Ramani pauses in the doorway, uncertain what he should do. The imperials seemed to be in trouble, but he knows full well that there are more coming from the shuttle, and probably poring through the doorway any minute now. As he looks he notices that damned Chak, still alive, still running. Running towards the ship. Running towards Ramani.

The Balosar looks around. This would have to work. He's running out of places to hide. And that Devaronian has to go down. He retreats a few steps into the ship and takes a good aim at the Chak's back as the slick Devaronian shoots down a Stormtrooper. He curses softly as the charmed idiot manages to move just as Ramani pulls the trigger, causing his shot to miss him by only a few centimeters.

Aim as incidental for the electronic sighting system and then another aim for a maneuver. And then Ramani shoots Chack. In the back, of course.

Shooting my Devaronian friend. In the back. Again...: 2eA+1eP+4eB+1eD+1eC+1eS 0 successes, 6 advantage
a-s.pnga-a-a.pngp-s-s.pngb--.pngb-a-a.pngb-a-a.pngb--.pngd-f.pngc-f.pngs-f.png

And fails. Again. This is not really very funny anymore. Truth be told it's getting rather annoying.

Can I use some of those advantages to have Chack not notice Ramani, just that someone took shots at him?

How the actual heck?! 7 positive dice against 3 negative... Why does Orokos hate you so, Ramani?!

Yes, that's fine - 6 advantages is enough that I will certainly allow him to think the blaster fire is from any one of the other myriad of combatants. However the rest of the "baddies" will notice you are back in the game, as it were.

Sorry, was away for long weekend.

Torin is in Short range with the Stormtroopers right?  If not I'll use another Maneuver (2 Strain) to Engage.

Maneuver: Engage Stormtroopers

Action: Lightsaber Attack (with Boost from Embeetoo)

Lightsaber attack: 3eA+1eP+1eB+2eD 3 successes, 1 advantage

a-s.pnga-s.pnga-s-a.pngp-s-a.pngb-s.pngd-f-f.pngd-th.png

So that's 10 Damage (Breach 1) and I'll use the Advantage to activate a Crit

Embeetoo's volley of blaster bolts turned the attention of the stormtroopers giving Torin the opening he needed.

Torin worried he'd become rusty in hiding and that he'd fail this day...but the Force flowed through him and he leapt towards the stormtroopers, his green lightsaber hummed in quick arcs and spun around his body as he engaged the deadly troopers, cutting three of them down.

Post will be up within 12 hours team! Alright, let's continue!

Bhurrk:

Seeing Chak running, and the ship no longer firing, the Trandoshan decides that discretion is now the better part of valor. His score would not remain intact if he was captured. With Larrsk dead, Scorekeeper take him into her embrace, Bhurrk was no longer as ready to stand and fight. The Vader would see him imprisoned, tortured and executed; this he knew.

Scrambling across the bay, the hunter does his best to get out of the way of the remaining shooters, ducking in behind cover and pressing himself back and against the scattered crates, chunks of duracrete and rubble. Hiding was not against the strictures, as long as he did not get captured, anything was fine. Slowing his breathing, the reptilian man decides to wait out the remainder of the battle and take the first chance he sees to escape - severing his business arrangement with Chak in the process.

Bhurrk uses one maneuver to run away from all hostiles

He then uses one action to hide himself as best he can

Stealth check to escape combat: 2eP+1eA+1eB+2eC+1eD+2eS 1 failure, 1 Triumph
p-tr.pngp-s-a.pnga-a.pngb--.pngc-th.pngc-f-f.pngd-th.pngs--.pngs-f.png

So he is still visible to those who choose to look, but we'll use that Triumph to say he can get a better shot at hiding next round as the situation is rather distracting overall

Unidentified droid inside the ship:

Inside the ship Chak is a yelling, screaming whirlwind of motion. He continues issuing commands, one after another, to the droid still at the gunnery station. Mechanisms whirring, the unit stands from the console, detaching the telescopic interface and walking in a halting, clumsy fashion over to the pilot seat. Plugging into the computer, the droid begins powering the engines and performing pre-flight checks. The Devaronian continues to rant and rave about turning the droid to slag, crushing it in a compactor, scattering its parts across the galaxy... So is the droid's lot in life.

The droid uses one maneuver to exit the gunnery station

It then uses a second maneuver to enter the pilot's seat

Last remaining Stormtrooper from the Lambda:

KT can only see red. Every one of his squad is dead, laying around him in mangled, scorched and blasted heaps. He would mourn for them later - now is the time for revenge. Forgoing all Imperial Military Doctrine, he leaped at the girl with the knife, bringing the E-11 down towards her with savage force.

He overextends, and she nimbly twists out of the way, her grace lost on the enraged Stormtrooper. He continues his assault, but she remains elusive, avoiding each blow as he brings them to bear. Eventually he slumps, exhausted, all strength washed out of him. Was this to be his defining moment in service to the Empire? Unable to even win a fight against a street urchin?

His battle brothers dead. The targets evading capture. An agent of Darth Vader no doubt readying a report on the squad's ineptitude. KT-124 felt a surge of self-loathing wash over him, a deserved feeling of uselessness at being unable to make a difference in the galaxy. His eyes are unfocused, they roam over the bay, lingering only on the white armor of the dead Stormtroopers. Then a small flash of a lit console catches his gaze...

KT uses one maneuver to engage Eya

He then uses his action to attack with an improvised melee weapon in the form of the E-11

Improvised melee attack against Eya: 1eP+3eA+2eD+1eS 0 successes, 1 advantage
p-s.pnga-s.pnga-a-a.pnga-a.pngd-th.pngd-f-th.pngs-f.png

The advantage will be used for him to spot a single important thing - in this case the doors to the docking bay.

The two Stormtrooper groups outside the Docking Bay:

"You heard her, Troopers! But set for stun; the Inquisitors will want this Jedi alive!" the sergeant calls over the comm. Each of the ranked and regimented Imperial Stormtroopers mechanically flicks the switch on their blasters to stun, before opening fire with the expanding blue rings into the Kel-Dor.

Still working on the bay door, the hot-wiring Trooper feels the last piece fall into place, and there is a small whir as the door console reacts to his efforts, humming to life and lighting up.

The Kel-Dor springs towards them, a blade of pure light appearing in his hand and blurring in an arc. Suddenly three of the Empire's finest are down, laying in many pieces of what used to be one soldier. The remaining men fire again and again, scrambling away from the Jedi and his deadly weapon. The enfilading fire does have an effect, and some of the rounds hit home.

Group Delta continues work on the door

Group Beta uses one Maneuver to draw their weapons
Then they use one Action to fire Stun Rounds at engaged range to Torin, taking the ONE PURPLE and adding TWO PURPLE for using heavy ranged weapons

Firing stun rounds at Torin: 1eP+3eA+3eD 1 success, 3 advantage
p-a-a.pnga-s-s.pnga-s.pnga-a-a.pngd--.pngd-f-f.pngd-th.png

Oops, forgot Cardas' Boost...

Adding the missing Boost: 1eB 0 successes, 2 advantage
b-a-a.png

Torin takes 8 Strain Damage - this is already including your soak

The first two advantage will be spent on giving Torin a setback on his next check
The remaining three will be used to gain +1 melee defense - adding another setback to anyone trying to melee Group Beta

Unless I'm mistaken it's now the top of a new turn. Since Ramani has now fired he is very much at risk, so I'll attempt to shoot the lucky bugger again. Let's see if I have any luck this time. Again 2 boosts from Accurate 1, a boost for aiming as incidental and another for aiming again as a maneuver. And since this is getting rather silly I'll flip a DP to upgrade the roll. Can't really stack the odds any higher...

Shooting my Devaronian friend. In the back. Third time's the charm, right?: 1eA+2eP+4eB+1eD+1eC+1eS 1 failure, 1 threat, 2 Triumph
a--.pngp-tr.pngp-tr.pngb--.pngb--.pngb--.pngb--.pngd-f-f.pngc-f-th.pngs--.png

OK. Seriously? This is the most flipped up roll I have ever seen I think. I am at a loss how to interpret this. I am also at a loss to understand in which way exactly I have offended whatever malevolent deity that controls Orokos. But, you know, clearly I have. And I have to say it's getting a bit demoralizing.

I'll hold off posting IC until we figure out how to interpret a check with two triumphs but a failure.

Ramani looks around wild-eyed. His plan is rapidly going to some fiery lava pit on Mustafar. With people flocking to the ship the chances of him flying away and selling his freshly stolen starship for a nice profit seem remote. That bastard Devaronian has to pay for this with his life.

Chack is clearly a blessed fool, since he always seems to move just as Ramani pulls the trigger. With the sly Devaronian about to get away, Ramani again aligns up the holographic crosshairs as he aims for Chack’s back. Only to be frustrated when the Devaronian suddenly stops and looks around. The blaster bolt meant to blow clean through his back instead hits the small blaster pistol the Devaronian had been holding. With a confused look at his ruined blaster the merchant throws the useless weapon away, staring angrily at Ramani.

Perfect. The new plan is working, the Balosar con-man thinks to himself. Thinking fast, running as I hit the ground, that’s me. New plan. The first step, disarming Chak, had been easy. Now all that remained was taking him prisoner and ordering him to tell his men to drop their weapons. And then talks rings around the stupid Stormtroopers, if any of them remained alive, and flying away on Chack’s ship. Could always space him later. Or just drop him as they left orbit.

“It’s over Chack. You’re lucky Vader wants you alive or I would have shot you in the back. You are finished, tell your men to drop their weapons and surrender. Do it now, Vader won’t mind if I shoot your balls off if you fail to comply,” Ramani says, his tone that of a being completely in control of the situation. As he threatens the Devaronian he lowers the aim of his blaster slightly to point at the groin area of the horned alien.

Sorry for the delay all. That last roll really had me flummoxed.

Eya eyes the collapsed Stormtrooper and briefly considers ensuring things. And then That Idiot Ramani starts talking again, and all she can think about is how much he needs to shut up. She turns and stomps over toward the pair, her intense focus on the combat finally broken as she does so.

"Chak, surrender." She can't manage to sound anything but utterly exasperated. "You're outmatched, even by him."

Him is, of course, Ramani, who Eya then turns to. "And you—stop talking." She can't decide whether to slap him right now or wait until they've escaped.

Eya's Turn:

Incidental: Uncommit Force die (though I don't have the talent back yet, since Chak isn't incapacitated or dead).

Maneuver: Go to short range of Chak and Ramani.

Second Maneuver: None yet.

Action: None yet.

Sorry, Ramani, Eya's a bit mad at you right now. Mostly because she thinks you're going to get everyone killed. I'm enjoying your posts, don't worry!

And, yes, as far as she's concerned, That-Idiot-Ramani is his name now. :P

I'm also holding off on actually taking actions because Eya is talking to people. Have others go if you want. :)

I am well aware of the fact that the list of people present who think Ramani is a clever person is short. Probably limited to one. :P

And do give him a little credit, he apparently shot the weapon out of that Devaronian's hand. That certainly looks like a difficult shot.. We know it was all luck, but it looks like he knows how to shoot after all...

Agent Tylee Cardas:

Seeing the trio of Troopers cut down in the blink of an eye, Cardas' usual composure breaks down somewhat. She back away from the Jedi and his lightsaber, unsure of what to do in the face of a weapon so lethal, and so legendary. The Troopers continue to fire, their bolts bouncing away from the glowing blade, while the Kel-Dor stands amidst the chaos with no sign of stress or worry.

Then she hears the mechanical whirring of the droid. Spinning to face it, Cardas ducks just in time as a hail of blaster fire tears across the open area. She praises the Emperor for her luck. From behind her comes more screaming, and when she looks back over her shoulder she can see why. The droid's shots, intended for her, have sprayed into the crowd. Cursed civilians, I told them to evacuate! Her anger flares, the B2 unit a blank slate of expressionless malice looming over her causing the last of her composure to snap.

"Troopers, protect the civilians from these criminals! Do everything you can to stop them from taking more innocent lives!"

Springing back to a standing position, the blonde Agent moves to place herself beside one of the walls, trying to limit the firing angle of the droid to something other than the now running civilians. She raises her gun and blasts at it, hoping to draw its attention again.

Firing Blaster Pistol at D-MB2: 2eP+1eA+1eD 2 successes

p--.pngp-s.pnga-s.pngd--.png

The shot will hit Embee for 3 damage (this is already after your soak)

I used your Despair from the last roll to say the shots missing Cardas went into the crowd - the damage done is indistinct at this stage. A nice wee moral quandary for a medical unit/battle droid!

Is he bloody serious? Crow stops just short of saying out loud as the Balosar delivers his ultimatum to Chak. But then Eya, wounded though she is, strides up and supports the alien. Doing his best to stride as well, CR-0216 keeps his rifle at his shoulder and aimed towards the very wounded Devaronian. It's then he notes where the supposed Agent of Vader has his own weapon aimed.

"Now son," Crow says in that universal Clone gravel of a tone, "You don't wanna go discharging that blaster at that target, do you? I understand you've probably got good cause to dislike this blighter, and I can promise you I do as well, but there are some things a man just does not do."

Not lowering his rifle, the old Republic soldier looks over at Eya and nods, "Afternoon. Didn't expect to run into you again so quick. I see you've been keeping good company."

Sizing up the Balosar, the Clone takes stock of the man's injuries. It seemed to Crow that all of the assorted lunatics in the area had taken one too many blaster shots for the day. "And hey, not to cut short what I'm sure would be a bloody lovely hour of explaining how, and more importantly why you got caught up in all this, but that docking bay door is getting opened by someone without a pass code. I'd bet my bottom credit someone we don't wanna see will be coming through it."

Maneuver - One range band moved towards Chak (think this puts me in engaged)
Downgrade Action to Maneuver - Aim at Chak (threateningly, but not near the nether regions threateningly!)
