waywardgm 160 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Just for clarification, I decided to have a personal scale blaster as the ship's weapon in this fight, as the ship to person combat rules are just not kind, and not the sort of thing one does in an opening session when one really prefers happy players. But it does still have proper ship weaponry, which I cannot stop you using if you so desire. Also - sorry, I have apparently hit the wall on tired today, didn't even register half of the post; the ship is currently closed. Feel free to use a Light Side point to ignore that. The actual ship turrets yes - it will take one maneuver, but on board the ship you may find some more surprises! As with most vehicle "mounting", once you find the seat, you have to use a maneuver to get into it, unless of course you have "Let's ride"! Absolutely LOVED that post by the way. Ramani has banter to spare! Edited October 29, 2016 by waywardgm
The Shy Ion 502 Posted October 29, 2016 Eya stares, Stormtrooper momentarily forgotten. It's obviously not true—Ramani lies like most people breathe, that's clear enough. No, she's just overcome by the incredible urge to slap him for being a complete idiot. There are some names you don't invoke, and that one is first on the list. It takes her a moment to register that Ramani is on the ship now. That's probably for the best, really—he'll have a hard time talking himself into more trouble from there. Unless he tries to feed that line to traffic control, that is. He'd better not try and leave without us, Eya thinks. "Us" being at least her and Crow. Probably Solan and Grrowv too. She almost tries to say something, but what can you say to something like that? Congrats, Ramani, you rendered her speechless. Okay, you probably rendered everyone else speechless too, but... Eya does plan to make good on that slap, just to warn you. Though she might settle for just shaking Ramani around a bit.

As with most vehicle "mounting", once you find the seat, you have to use a maneuver to get into it, unless of course you have "Let's ride"! Hm. I assumed the door was open since the ship was in the dock and the owner right there, but if I can spend a DP on the door being open (or at least unlocked) that's brilliant. Otherwise the plan is sort of gone Makes sense to have the ship equipped with a pop-out blaster to cover the retreat of the occupants. I think there is a starship attachment to do just that in some book somewhere. Ramani's plan is more to apprehend the gunner than to start using the guns himself. He might, he's unpredictable like that, but for now he wants a) the safety of the ship, and b) to stop the gunner in the ship from gunning down Ramani (and sort of Eya as well). Since the gunner is using a pop-out blaster rather than an actual turret, I'll assume he's in the cockpit. Is that one maneuver from the door as well? And Shy Ion, Eya's reaction is exactly why Ramani invoked Vader's name. It is probably the most powerful name in the galaxy to use when dealing with the Empire. And the most unforgiving one, but Ramani is not much bothered with considering the small things in life. Like the consequences of everything he does... Weedles and Fries 170 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) …”Humanity and Civilization?” If he had a forehead he would sure as heck be rubbing it right now. Instead, he simply let out a small hiss before answering in turn. “I wouldn’t call the Republic the epitome of civilization, nor do I recall the Confederacy attempting to target the human race in general. In fact, as my databanks confirm,” the droid stated condescendingly, “Their de facto leader was in fact human as well as a man of grand civility”. Embeetoo glared at the officer talking to the Stormtrooper, internally shaken of the news he gleaned. They were already almost through? This Kel-Dor is taking too much time with such foolish questions, they needed a plan! “As for what I would do, possible sage, with my ‘chains broken’, I plan on returning to the one who salvaged me that fateful day on Boz Pity. Such an act requires compensation, don’t you agree?” Oh yes, compensation indeed. As the officer walked towards him, the droid began to twitch his hands in anticipation. Obviously, she was talking to the Kel-Dor, but something creeped inside of Embeetoo as well- Alright, let's see where this takes us- Coercion Check: Rank v. Rust: 1eA+2eC+1eD 1 failure, 1 threat Embeetoo's luck finally ran out; the angel must of flicked that stick right on his head. -caution. The war machine drew a bit closer to Torin, hoping the Kel-Dor would take the smart route and lay along while they came up with a plan. A living youth means nothing if they’re both ashen. Turning to the Padawan, the droid spoke in his stereotypical tinny voice normal for a unit of his build, playing along with her misconception, “Master, shall we not return to our previous business? It would seem we are not welcomed here”. Hopefully he took the hint, warrior or not he knew she was not going down so easily and knew brute force was not the best option available (even if it meant the scarred girl might chalk up a new wound). Well, in hindsight maybe I should have put some more points into Coercion for a terrifying battle droid...ah well. waywardgm 160 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Ramani - Chak is not the type of man to risk something as obvious as ship theft during a deal. The entity aboard the ship (which Crow knows is a Droid) is something you'll have to contend with once aboard - how you handle it is up to you! Once inside the ship it's one maneuver to go anywhere in terms of "structured time", so from the door to any room of the vessel is just one. Then from that room to another room is one, and so forth and so on. Torin - I have read it and yes, it seems oddly worded (or I still need sleep). Let's just say you can either Upgrade your own dice or Downgrade one of hers. Unless anyone else has advice on this? Embeetoo - Great work! Jedi Ronin 1,588 Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) Opposed Coercion Check (vs Discipline): 1eA+3eP+1eD+2eC 2 successes, 2 advantage I used the upgrade to my dice So Torin isn't cowed but is willing to play along with Embeetoo...can I used this success and advantage to appear to submit to the Imperial officer and no longer be of concern to her - giving some advantage when engaging later? Here goes.... Torin had faced worse than the wrath of an arrogant officer that didn't know what they were getting into...but perhaps getting her to drop her guard was the best first step in overcoming her if it came to that... Torin followed Embetoo's lead. "Many pardons!" Torin's voice rumbled through his mask with a mechanical twang - Embeetoo and him made an odd chorus. He bowed and backed up further, trying not to get too close to the gathered crowd. He didn't want them getting caught if something violent erupted. In a lower rumble: "I have a bargain for you Embeetoo. Let me have a hand in programming your moral heuristic processor and I'll help you find the one who salvaged you. I think you'll find this sage is full of surprises - so what do you say?" While he crouched away from the Imperials Torin but his hand on his lightsaber. If Embeetoo agreed then he would need it. waywardgm 160 Posted October 30, 2016 You absolutely can, Torin. Weedles and Fries 170 Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) So, the sage wished to play life coach it seemed. Very well, having to hear the Kel-Dor’s moral views wasn’t a particularly horrible price for such an ally. The droid was pleasantly surprised when he mentioned finding the Chevin; he would need to separate themselves while he “repaid” him in full of course but that shouldn’t be too difficult. They would still need the girl and the clone though, they were bound to have a ship of some sorts and that was the first step after all. Besides, he’d been itching for a glorious battle. His bandolier rattling Embeetoo gave a low rumble before speaking in a strangely polite yet quiet tone, “Very well sage, but I have a few stipulations first: 1. I shall mark you as my temporary master until our agreement reaches an end.2. Any attempts of violent treachery between us shall resolve in the nullification of this agreement.3. If for some reason our goals are impossible to complete our agreement will dissolve.4. I am to be freed of my programming BEFORE reaching my master. I cannot properly serve with such limitations.5. I will not be expected to do any of the cooking. I am a battle droid, not a food processor.6. You are to never attempt to physically tamper with my memory or moral structure, though the latter can be attempted through rational reasoning and persuasion at your leisure as is your right in this agreement. Any attempt to erase my memory or beliefs will be met with lethal force as per self-defense protocols.7. We do not keep the company of mynocks. I hate mynocks.8. I am to be treated as a fellow sentient, as I shall treat you.9. I shall therefore defend and repair those you consider allies as well as yourself.10. We shall not, NOT, travel to Quermia. I hate Quermia. If this is acceptable, on your command ‘Master’, we can begin the ‘festivities’”. Though still staring at the soon to be foes before him, he stretched out a cold durasteel hand towards his new Master, hoping these requests would be understood. Jedi Ronin 1,588 Posted October 31, 2016 Torin paused for a moment. Not exactly what he wanted out of the deal but still reasonable. And he had not expected a B2 to have such a sense of humor. Or maybe it wasn't humor to the droid. Regardless, Torin had to use his discipline not to chuckle. "Very well. I am your new master until our agreement is fulfilled." In one fluid motion Torin's hand came from his robes as he raised himself to his full height, a glowing bar of green energy hummed in the air. "Follow my lead" Torin advanced on the Imperials, his lightsaber in a defensive position with his other hand stretched out. "Leave, and you will not be harmed." Torin's modulated voice boomed in the corridor. His words were directed at the Imperials but he also hoped that bystanders would also listen and run to safety. I'm not sure how this fits exactly into structured time but Torin would like to get within Short range of the stormtroopers and activate Bind if possible 1 Weedles and Fries reacted to this

What a day this was shaping up to bee: a new long term ally, the prospect of a borrowed vessel, and now the opportunity of true combat! But suddenly, everything went off at once in his core once the blade sprung from his master’s hand. What fool he was! What a fool Embeetoo was! A Jedi, not a Sage?! Were they not slaughtered after the failed coup?! Was their temple not a husk and their students a mass of corpses?! With this realization, all of his systems immediately sprung inside of him to execute his former foe, a small fraction of his Separatist origins leaking at that moment. Thankfully, his new programming was far stronger, leaving him unable to attack. Anyway, why would he attack in consciousness? Rather, though internally his body wished to strike the Kel-Dor down Embeetoo only felt a sense of shame for his failure recognizing a Jedi Knight and an overwhelming sense of pride- one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy now stood with him faced with battle; the only beings able to put him down now one prepared in unison. His arm locking into place as he stood a bit behind and followed his Torin’s lead, preparing to begin his assault at his command.“Roger Roger”. "What the hell do you mean, working for Darth kriffing Vader! Stop right this second and explain yourself!" he yells after the Balosar. Unfortunately the jolting motion of his run and the confusion over what Ramani had just said throw Solan's aim off. A lot. The blaster bolts harmlessly sail past the surprised Trandoshan, hitting the wall behind him as he stands there, not even bothering to duck. "If that's true then you and I have a lot to discuss!" Solan uses One Maneuver to move a single range band away from Larrsk - back to Medium Range from him - now at Short Range to the shi[ Solan uses One Action and fires his Heavy Blaster Pistol against Larrsk Firing DL-44 at Larrsk: 2eP+1eA+1eC+2eD 0 successes, 3 advantage - woops, added one too many purples, but the last one was blank anyway so no worries Solan then uses 3 Advantage to recover strain Well... You shocked the heck out of him! Good job, Ramani! Chak T'Vont: Limping from his cover, the supremely enraged Devaronian heads to cut off Ramani and Solan, firing his hold out blaster relentlessly. The snarl of his face is horrific, a mixture of anger and hatred that would do the Sith Lords of old proud. "You work for Vader? There's no way he would let someone as... As... Pathetic! Into his ranks!" Chak screams as he hobbles forward. Blaster bolts zip all around the Balosar, miraculously missing him as they streak towards Solan. The Corellian takes a hail of shots, stumbling as he runs but managing to keep his footing. Blood seeps through his clothes, the neat black scoring and burn of the blaster hits framing the dark red as it runs from the wounds. Grrowv cries out, a combination of anger and her own pain, as she sees Solan hit. Chak chuckles, his amusement at the whole situation becoming maniacal as it grows ever more out of his control. No wonder the Stormtroopers were here; they wanted to protect the agent of the notorious figure. What was a simple Trandoshan hunter and bodyguard to do? Surely he couldn't risk the wrath of Vader? But then... To gain the acclaim that would come with attacking minions of the Imperial Lord. It may be enough to attract his attention. Perhaps Darth Vader may come to see him and offer him a place at his table, hunting down the choicest of targets and getting the best pay. It would mean being able to travel wherever, whenever, not worrying about Imperial tariff or restriction. Yes. In order to get Lord Vader to notice him, he had to prove his worth. He had to kill the Stormtroopers. Pivoting and barely aiming the scattergun in the correct direction, Larrsk fires a blast towards the two white armored men, standing so pure and gleaming in the light of the afternoon sun. The huge crack of the gun causes them both to turn and look at the Trandoshan, who smiles a grim invitation. None of the spray hits either Imperial, but both level their guns at him. primusnine 72 Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) It's now or bloody never! Crow thinks desperately as he watches the nothing short of insane scene unfolding before him. Get to the ship, silence the gunner, take over the gun and tell everyone to quiet down. Gotta work! Stepping from cover with his rifle raised to his shoulder, and sighting down the length of it as he moved quickly and efficiently across the docking bay, CR-0216 sees three figures break away, all of them shouting one thing or another about Dart Vader. Shivering in spite of himself, the Clone remembers the stories. The 501st was Vader's personal army, a battalion of brutal and relentless soldiers who embodied the worst parts of the Grand Army, at least to Crow. But he was quite literally no different, and that's what scared him. He'd been the same man, he'd fought the same battles, he'd executed the same Jedi. Posthumously, Jango Fett was responsible for the fall of the Jedi Order, regardless of who the command had come from. Snap out of it, old man! You've got a bloody job to do! Coming back to the moment, Crow sees Eya and the Togorian, knives flashing and stabbing amidst the gunfight. Smart move, closing up the distance and getting into a knife fight. Can't bring big guns to bear as easily that way. Speaking of big guns... Crow watches the hail of blaster fire erupting from the ship's weaponry again, tearing across the bay. The Devaronian moves out of his cover, under the cover of those shots, yelling to the Balosar. It'd be rude if I didn't take this chance I reckon. Sighting the shot, Crow aims at the horned criminal's center of mass, before pressing the trigger. And the shot misses as the Devaronian stoops, his limp so bad he unwittingly ducks the shot! Alright, he can have that one. I guess I was shooting him in the back. Not that he deserves anyone looking him in the eye... Crow relents, moving faster and closing the distance to Chak and his prey; not to mention the ship, on which the gun starts spooling up again. Maneuver 1 to move out of cover and across the bay 1 range band, which is still at medium to Chak if I've worked this out right Action to shoot at Chak Popping shots at Chak T'Vont: 2eP+1eA+2eC+1eS 0 successes, 1 advantage Not ideal, but we'll use that 1 advantage to "notice a single important point in the ongoing conflict" please!Maneuver 2 to move again, this time closing up to short range of Chak, and I think the ship, but Crow isn't moving in the exact same direction as our lovely foe, so I'll leave it to you, Wayward. waywardgm 160 Posted November 3, 2016 Destiny Pool: 3 Light Side / 5 Dark Side Crow - your single important point in the ongoing conflict will be seeing a strange ripple of lights on the large docking bay door panel suddenly brighten and then turn off. Twice. You can elucidate this as someone trying to get in, and they may be close to it already. How's everyone going? We coping with the crazy battle unfolding? Grrowv: Still growling in pain from the close range blaster fire, Grrowv does the only thing she can think of in the moment. Crouching and bracing herself, she picks up the fallen Stormtrooper, before standing tall and tossing him into his allies. It's not pretty, but the impact makes a sickening crunch as a bone breaks, and the three of them reel back. On the ground and groaning again, the trooper who had fallen from the shuttle lines is out of the fight; this time for good. She stands, panting, the wounds already taking their toll, but her adrenaline is high and she's mad. Her next roar almost drowns out the sound of the Lambda, still hovering overhead. Grrowv uses One Maneuver to stand up from Prone Grrowv then uses One Action to roll an Athletics Check to pick up and throw the Stormtrooper Throwing the prone Stormtrooper into his friends: 2eP+2eA+2eD+2eS 4 successes The Stormtroopers take 4 points of damage - taking another out of the battle Hooray, she did things! Bhurrk: As the Stormtrooper is callously tossed through the air, Bhurrk can't help but be impressed by the sheer strength of the lion woman. Still a bit stunned by the revelation they are fighting an agent of Darth Vader, the devout hunter shakes himself back into the fight and realizes the risk of what he and his partner, his brother in arms, are doing. Mussst grab Larrsk. We cannot risssk this sssort of battle. He isss brave, to attack the Ssstormtroopersss, but foolisssh! Vader isss not to be trifled with! Vaulting over a cargo box and sprinting to his silent, scaled compatriot, Bhurrk calls out, "Hunt-brother, we cannot continue thisss fight! There isss no honor to be had here, not without usss being hunted by the Empire!" Larrsk gestures furiously, hissing around his half-tongue with clear frustration in his eyes. "No, Larrsk! The Vader will not think it worthy of praissse to have ssslain his minionsss. We mussst eliminate thessse ssscum and await the judgement of the Ssscorekeeper. If we are faithful, ssshe will sssee us sssafe!" Bhurrk replies, his understanding of Larrsk's fragmented gestures enough to interpret their meaning. With that, he pivots just in time to see the Clone raise and fire his weapon at his boss, Chak T'Vont. Another dishonorable warrior, targetting the back. Aiming his own weapon, Bhurrk fires, a triple burst of bolts that all arc accurately into the Clone's chest. Satisfied with his marksmanship, and knowing the Scorekeeper would reward him, the Trandoshan turns back to his long time partner... Chak T'Vont erupts into a fury like no other, screaming, "A pox on your Maker, the factory that built you, your production line and your processing! I will see you melted down into a refresher unit!" Shaking his head, GC replies, "No time for it now, Trooper. Put down the insurgents and we'll deal with that matter later. Agent Cardas is almost in, we'll have our backup momentarily."A massive blast scatters over the area, as one of the Trandoshans discharges his shotgun towards the three Troopers and the Togorian in their midst. Thanking the Emperor that the xeno's aim was off, KT spins towards the lizard and aims his weapon. Then QI-550 hits KT hard, and he stumbles back into GC-839, the groan of the plasteel armor against itself a horrible noise to his ears. But more horrible is the snap and crunch as something in QI breaks as he hits the ground, no doubt damaged already from the longer fall moments earlier. KT's face becomes a mask of rage, hidden behind the eerie helmet, as he forgets all sense of battlefield control and fires wildly towards the three aliens in his field of view. He feels the hits from some weapon scoring his armor, but he knows the damage caused is minor.
